So the Kohler and Yanmar engines fitted elsewhere in the range are of lesser quality; along with the in-house transmissions…?
No they're still good items. But you don't tend to get FPT engines or ZF transmissions in the smaller tractors. It's in house transmissions haven't given us any bother. Clutches were perhaps a bit light on the old X5 series for loader work but good otherwise. And personally I prefer the in house CVT in 50kmph. It feels a bit constrained in 40kmph. Makes a great loader tractor though 👍

Dont take this as criticism as i appreciate u comin on here stickin ur head above the radar where u can often get shot at, but why is there not more product promotion backed by headquaters. If mccorrmick is wantin more sales why is there not more demos bein put out, more dealer open nights as farmers love free tea and a catch up, more facebook competitions where u can win hats, bodywarmers and factory tours etc etc, more deals being available like stockman tractor with free loader upgrade or large tractor with free gps, attractive finance and hire packages etc etc and finally more local farmers newspaper adverts. They have invested big bucks in product development and have imho thier best tractors to date but the dealers need help to get them on the ground
This has 5 likes so far further back the thread somebody suggested discounts of up to 60%.
FFS. there's no such thing as a free lunch you need to make up your minds which product/price point you are happy with and if it doesn't come with a cup of tea be happy.

There are loads of threads on here about dealer attitude, and prices especially for spare parts. You need to realise all those freebies need paying for and are not actually free.
We are the only mugs around that seem to do owt for zilch.

On the subject of component parts it should be pointed out that the manufacturers of these components are making them specifically for and in conjunction with that customer and may not be exactly the same as a similarly badged product on a competitors machine.

Iyswim trying to avoid trade names here but some have been mentioned above.

edit. We'll done @Mccormick 94 for sticking your head above the parapets stick with it I'm sure your input is valued.

I didn’t say 60% discount; I said 60% of the price which works out to be a 40% discount, or it did when I went to school. So if a fendt is 200k a like for like McCormick would have to be 120k to get me interested. I appreciate even a 40% discount is unlikely which was kind of my point but I didn’t want to say as much because as you rightly say; at least matey is on here trying.

A friend bought a x7 660 in the summer, much to the amusement of his neighbours and cousins around him,but it is a very nice bit of kit, pulls up the road past here far better than other big name equivalents in the area and hasn't needed any visits from the dealer other than first service. Not to be dismissed without a good reason

Little bit optimistic, expecting almost 2 for the price of 1, but it's your money to spend as you wish.
After reading and hearing about a lot of Fendt users complaints, I actually think that McCormick couldn't be any worse than them.

Very optimistic! Hence why it wouldn’t happen. I agree regarding not just fendt but all modern stuff with more and more horror stories of unreliability. I usually buy based on resale value and stuff that’s strong in that dept is usually so because of a valid reason. If I’m honest I really don’t know what I’ll do when my current tractors become uneconomical to repair. Probably lease something on a full maintenance contract and then, to a certain extent, will be whatever is cheapest.

Like the mainstream brands they also have a good product offering, there have been gaps but they're being filled. Unlike the big boys which can partially trade off of their name and appeal Mccormick aren't in that position (yet). Therefore their products have to be capable, reliable and great to use, and they can't be released with known faults and issues. We all know mainstream brands which are associated with a particular issue but people buy them anyway because it's an X or a Y and it's "cool". If Mccormick did this they'd be screwed. We've yet to have a range and be able attribute a common fault to it.

Also almost all of the dealers are independents like ourselves. They'll go out of their way to help and not forget about you the moment you leave the dealership (I'm not saying all big franchise dealerships are like this but hear a lot of people grumble about some). You can also normally talk to the man or woman who's name is above the door.

I admit we have to fight tooth and nail to get most people to even sit in the seat but those that do are on the whole very impressed and once the first one is sold they then seem to stick with them.

And at the end of the day competition to stop the big boys getting complacent can only be a good thing surely?
That’s a pretty broad brush you have used! Fair play for being “trade” on here but don’t knock the opposition . Merely say where your product excels! Do the team at McCormick know if this post? Ben and the guys are actually very good at PR

Hi @Robt. Sorry you felt I was brand bashing. I've tried not to run down the competition. And no I've done this post off my own back. Tbh I was trying to do it to answer technical questions about the product but that wasn't the questions I got asked. If anyone else thinks I've been unfair towards other brands then I apologise.

I don't know whether to take that as a compliment for the brand or not 😅

Id take it as a compliment if mccs is bein compared to a fendt. Where is mccorrmick and landinis sold in big numbers as there is obviously enough sold to keep a factory going? Also what is current waiting times on them as some other brands has big waiting times currently

Very popular in their home market in Italy. Think America takes a bit to. Lead time pre covid tended to run around 3 months. Think that's now more like 5 / 6 months, component depending.
