That’s a pretty broad brush you have used! Fair play for being “trade” on here but don’t knock the opposition . Merely say where your product excels! Do the team at McCormick know if this post? Ben and the guys are actually very good at PR
I don't see where he knocks the opposition?

I agree good for him/her for sticking there head above the parapet and answering questions on here. Not easy.

Hi @Robt. Sorry you felt I was brand bashing. I've tried not to run down the competition. And no I've done this post off my own back. Tbh I was trying to do it to answer technical questions about the product but that wasn't the questions I got asked. If anyone else thinks I've been unfair towards other brands then I apologise.
You've not bashed any brands. You've told it exactly as it is. Most people can see exactly where you're coming from and will appreciate your honesty

Thanks for reply. I interpreted one of your posts as you saying that other more well know brands knowingly release models with known faults as they can trade off their name. Guess we all read the written word differently. Kind regards ,Rob T

To be fair to all I think the point was made fairly that other mainstream brands do have issues that should be acknowledged by the users and manufacturer alike

Bought by Case IH. Then when Case and New Holland merged the monopolies comity made then sell off the Mccormick name. This was purchased by Agri Argo. Production initially undertaken in ex Case Doncaster works before being moved to Italy.
I think McCormick, like Farmall, was a brand name of International Harvester. It was not seen as a name on UK tractors since the 60s (IIRR). IH was bought/merged into the Case Corporation in the 1980s. Case IH was bought in 99 by the Fiat Corporation and merged into the New Holland group. At that point, due to monopoly issues the group had to unload some factories and production over the World. This included the Doncaster plant, which had originally been IH. The brand name Mccormick was sold with the factory and some existing Case models to the Italian Argo group that also owned Landini.
In the mid 00s the the Doncaster plant was closed and new Mccormick tractors became Italian in origin.
From what I gather, the only IH Mccormick heritage today is the brand name.

From Jim Glastonbury's "The Ultimate Tractor Guide". Two companies, The Mccormick Harvesting Company and The Deering Harvesting Company merged to form International Harvester so Mccormick was a precursor to IH, not a brand of IH like Farmall.

Mccormick name was eventually dropped shortly after the formation of IH until it reappeared when Agri Argo purchased it along with the Doncaster factory from the newly formed CNH. And yes there isn't actually any connection between the original Mccormicks and the current ones. The current X series are entirely their own thing other than being mirrored by the sister company Landini.

I don't think you have so no need to apologise. We made a decision to buy another less known brand and have no regrets whatsoever. We now have three Kubota M7 series varios, they too have a ZF backend but,as you correctly say, have been built to the tractor manufacturers spec.

That's a shame. I'm not going to pretend they're perfect! Glad to hear the local dealer is sorting him out 👍
Yes it’s unfortunate but he seems very happy with the dealer. It’s the only one locally I know anything about. Only one other local operator and I don't know him well enough to ask how it goes. In the farmers guide today A Downing seem to have some very competitive prices for new/ex demo models to my uneducated eye especially when you compare them to the prices bandied about in the 6R thread. Personal thing- i don't like that yukky metallic claret colour with grey wheels and black chassis. I think best colours mccormick have ever been was red chassis/bodywork and silver wheels.
