New Muck Spreader

The time has come to retire our old Kidd Spreaders and replace them with a modern (new) machine.
We do 5000 tonnes or more per year but 12 months of the year so it should n't be a hard life. Obviously everyone will say Bunning but is there something cheaper but good out there.

In what way?

Getting them to spread evenly through the load is almost impossible, you get them set on one day then one day the oil will be a little warmer or cooler and send it all out again. Also you cannot load above the height of the sides and the spread pattern is bad. The rotors aren’t balanced out of the factory and as a result of either that or poor/ undersized bearings, the top bearings fail regularly. Oil seals in the massively over complicated ram mechanisms will fail regularly. Other than that it’s a grand machine 🥴

They sound great on paper, but definitely are not.

Sadly would agree with that.
Killed hydraulic pumps on two different tractors in 3 years while spreading with one and blown umpteen hydraulic hoses on the spreader.
First one we had pre the electrics to control ram speed was trouble free though.

And a fantastic machine to block the rotors with, just reverse the floor oh no, hold on!!!! Then you get an unexperienced operator or someone forgets and it gets loaded with the flipping door still at the back……

We took delivery if new marshall in the summer, was wrong right from the start. Turned out main issue ( there was others) was an unbalanced rotor so away it went back to the manufacturer. 3 weeks later it returned with welded bits on it, not even painted properly and yet it was no better. We rejected it and ordered a west through the same dealer which has been excellent, as was the dealer. Must have had a friday afternoon one and these things happen but it was disappointing and we lost alot of time with the whole episode.

Did you get a west dual or the rear discharge?
