New old gearboxes

Just flicking through a John Deere 6030 tractor brochure from 2011. They were still offering 12/4 SyncroPlus gearbox for this range. That's a fully manual box, no clutchless shuttle or splitter. Has anyone here bought or used one?

I know these type of boxes are still offered in other countries even now. I drove a TM140 Classic on ploughing duties a few years back. Fully manual box but I actually got in OK with it. So who's got the newest over 100hp tractor with a fully manual box?

South American market have full ranges of fully mechanical box tractors from a number of manufacturers.

About time more equipment was made with less electronics and more simplicity It’s ok for the dealers to keep servicing and repairing new kit but it’s where our profit goes. its great to have all singing and dancing tractors but it comes at a high price and not just buying. reading On here only goes to show how many issues come newer tractors. Dad had a fergy 65 from new and used it for everything. It went well over 15000 hrs and still had original clutch and next to nothing for breakdowns. Basic but stood the test of time. As said look towards S America or even Asia fir a new one.

Everyone seems to be in thrall of manual boxes and dry clutches. I never understand this as the more modern boxes are better and more reliable.

We had dry clutch tractors and 3 winters feeding and 6 cuts of silage buckraked, and the clutch was borked. New flywheel every two clutches too. Also done in a few starter motors.

Never had a clutch changed or mechanical issue with semipowershift since.

A TM Classic would suit me down to the ground. I've had a couple of goes at buying one over the years, but get beaten to it whilst dithering. This suggests that out in the real world there is a limited market for basic tractors, but not enough for mainstream brands to get involved with over 100hp.
I probably do less than 200 hours per year on each tractor. I just need something to start, do the job, and put back in the shed with a battery isolator switched off for a few weeks without fear of ECU's needing power etc. I honestly don't think a couple of hundred hours per year on any Q cab tractor produced since 1976 is going to kill me.

Friend of mine has a 6130 standard with manual gearbox it 2011 and he bought it handy enough in 2015 from robson tractors it never once let him down but I’d still rather the power quad box

Newholland make a T7 exitus range with a mechanical box but I don't think it's available here. McCormick do a G max range which is similar to Landini Legend techno range. There's still the Same Laser tractors available abroad and their Deutz agrotrac equivalents.

Think I'd rather have a mechanical tractor. Current tractor is semi powershift but usually stays in the same gear from headland to headland, and I don't do much roadwork, and manual boxes do what you want straight away. No pressing buttons 3 or 4 times to drop one gear! No error codes. And they don't leave you stranded across an A road cos the dashboard's lit up like a christmas tree! Like our long gone 8240 once did.
