How many husbands that own their own farm didn’t spend the first two weeks with their wives after the child was born??

Child no1 - I had best part of a week off but it was a quiet time and we don’t have any livestock.
Child no2 - I was flat out with the sprayer by day 3 of been back home.
Trouble with running your own business/farm is if you don’t do a job no one else doesn’t it for you and the work mounts up.
Livestock farmings is a who different ball game, I don’t miss that at all!

1st one I was off nearly 3 weeks as wife wasn’t well. Worked few days but spent most of it driving back and forth from hospital.

2nd one I was off 3 or 4 days but it was December so took weekends too.

1st child I milked and drove into hospital for four days in-between, was at birth.
2nd home birth, very early morning birth then milked late morning.
3rd complications after home birth so neighbors helped for a few days then I milked and ran back and forward to intensive care for fortnight.
Have milked and done the basics until wife is ok and can happily function, all spring babies so soon outside in our body carrier. We keep going but had a good summer break. Why you asking?

Apparently I wasn't around much with the first one, but I can't really remember.

I was around after the second as he was a c section. It is difficult but as long as the father is working and not getting pee'd up at the rugby, then he's probably just doing what he has to, to provide.

Didn't really take any time off for both of them.🤦‍♂️

Ploughed fields next to house so I could go home quickly if any assistance required.

I'm a 💩 dad/husband. I generally just get in the way and sit looking at my phone anyway.

I don't do well taking orders from my wife either.

2 weeks together in house and there would probably have been a murder.

1 week for number 1, 4 days number 2 but after both did the bare minimum for a fortnight. Even if I could I’m not sure I’d want any longer; as said above they just sleep first few days anyway; most of my time was spent doing house stuff as wifelet had both out the sunroof so she was out of action

Timed both for end of nov/beginning of December. Being an arable farmer I didn’t have any physical work to do, but did do office stuff. Nothing pressing though so was there most of the time.
Both sun roof so was needed around.

Babies sleep most of the time during the day anyway, what’s a bloke supposed to do then? It’s nighttime when they seem to come alive, well ours did
My arguement was every f**ker just wants too come round and poke the baby for the first few weeks and I can’t stand her family at the best of times never mind them driving me mad like that I was best off out the way 😂💁‍♂️
