New red tractor standards agreed

One thing I don't really understand is that they are saying "the new standards have been agreed" and that there are 46k farmer members (twisted armed) but who agreed them for us? Who is representing the 46k members? Nearly everyone on the comittee is corporate.

The other thing is their process of "Committee, Consultation, Consensus" appears to be held behind closed doors. Why do we not get to see who is deciding or representing what? Guy Smith and Blenky aren't representing farmers so who are? This really needs pressure on a group of MP's to look at this root and branch because all the while imports are coming in with no such care

Red Tractor is an assurance scheme which you apply to join. By joining there are several benefits (allegedly) you gain. It's voluntary, and is not compulsory, your choice if you join or not, it's a free World.

You are clearly not a member.

So whats the final simple new changes to RED TRACTOR then or have i missed the boat again? & for those asking the silly questions oh you dont have too be in it, hello Yes if you produce Grain in the UK iam afraid you do as very few places seem to want your grain whatsoever, my local 125,000t plus grain store cert cant take anything that isnt assured end of.

That’s pretty much the case already for dairy

At least in the dairy game if you sell to a supplier and meet their required hurdles, you get paid extra for it. Red tractor is an irrelevance to most dairy farmers. They already meet far stricter standards. The average red tractor inspector couldn't even read the label on a box of dry cow tubes.
