If it's a bedded livestock house I think panels are better on the face of the beam as it keeps straw and dung away from the steelwork. Have seen them done with panels between beams and a small plinth concreted around the post to stop the dung getting at the steel.

The big advantage of putting panels in the stantions is the cladding goes snug to it without fillers.

All our lights are wired in like this. Then if a light is faulty, or there is a problem you can just reach up and and disconnect it, and the remaining lights will function as normal - it doesn't knock out the whole circuit.

Yes, used to use galvanised but rust too quickly and waterproof are nearly as cheap. Also covers regs with dust
