Our dairy has outgrown its site, and we are looking to move the clamps elsewhere, they would be a couple of hundred metres from the main site.
Looking to build about 12,000 cubic metres of storage, probably in 4 clamps, dimensions probably around 200'x50'x13' each.
Got a few questions, all the water that falls on the site is classed as dirty?
But in reality it would just be clean rain water, does this all have to be put in a slurry pit and spread or are there reed bed type systems that allow this water to be "cleaned"?
What do anaerobic digester systems do just build a large lagoon and umbilical all the water?
The alternative would obviously be to roof them all but the area is vast? Going forward we are going to have to roof all slurry pits will the silage be the same?
The ARK type pits look very good but not easy to roof if required?
Shuttered walls 4m high with concrete floors and steels at 15ft intervals with plates on to bolt a roof on eventually would be the most cost effective i assume?
