Do you honestly think there will still be a government in the autumn? ?

Yes, mostly as there is no electable opposition

Especially after we see corporation and higher rate income tax cuts in the next budget along with the already spending spree on public services and at least taking some control of the Brexit farce

Agree there's no electable opposition in Westminster.

Not sure how making brexit into an even bigger farce will stop BoJo from calling an early election.

Also not sure when Mr. Javid became such an expert on the economy either?

Whatever they do is only going to further the gap between the needy and the greedy.

Can’t see a farce now personally - it’s a simply no deal as was always intended (I was posting as such 2-3 years ago).

Once that’s out the way and tax haven Uk is established the deals will start to get done but it will be the EU doing all the begging then

Nov 1st,cut business and corperation tax to 12% and say hello we are open for buisness and watch the inward investment roll

i think they will send a warning sign with cuts in the next budget before 31st

If the EU don’t do a deal this country is going to destroy them economically, It’s not like they are in a good place to begin even !

they should abolish iht.....complicated....costly to administer/collect......catches the unwary....fills the solicitors pockets....raises £3billion....equiv to 1/4 of over seas aid budget (for perspective)......but most importantly would make land prices reflect their true value...rather than piggy bank

Of course there will be a Government.
It will probably be a half arsed bun fight between the Lib Dem’s, SNP, Plaid, Ulster Unionists, a Green, an absent Sinn Fein and The Monster Raving Loonies, but there *will* be a Government, of sorts...

It doesn't matter if the opposition are electable. Big hearted as Jezza is, he's ready and willing to step in as interim PM, following the vote of no confidence that will come if a general election isn't called.(y)

Kind of what I think. They will do a budget prior to the 31st and ready to be implemented on the 1st Nov. Put more pressure on Europe to give us a deal. If not means no businesses will leave and makes the pain more bareable for all.

Yeah, nothing simple about no deal if you're farming livestock.

Or indeed simple about anything that needs to go through customs either way

Or indeed anything to do with Ireland or keeping the pesky colonies united.

So if no deal is part of simplifying taxes, in addition to economic hardship for all (except the wealthy who want to continue avoiding paying tax by getting out of forthcoming EU regulation), we're in for a shyte storm of new paperwork, regulations, and hidden revenue generation by Westminster then ??

Imagine all the people at HMRC who would be out of a job if they did.

Now that really would be a simplification!!

If they started with culling staff first, simplification would follow. Same for DEFRA/EA/RPA.

True efficiency!

They always talk about 1 man per 1000ac.....how about 1 civil servant per xxx farmers/acres?!
