Anyone who hasn't ordered equipment by now will be lucky to find it from what i understand.
Defra asked all the manufacturers if they could cope and they said of course....seems like some were being over optimistic.
I ordered everything I need this Monday and no problems at all but my crush was on a back order anyhow . Milk pasteuriser is on 2 weeks wait so no problems. I think it depends on what you are after.

I recon about 3% of claimants will get inspected to check, so that's 3 claimants per 100. And they won't check on the final day so that will give you little extra grace.
If something can't be had by the deadline I would have a plan B that they will supply one for a day as a get out if need be but not be put off buying what best suits your business needs due to a date.
Farming's hard enough with out getting offered help which is then withdrawn through no fault of your own.

Think the rule book was clear, - If you can not get it in time - no grant

Not very fair though if you have been let down.

Maybe someone that has had an item delivered could hire it out for that purpose ;)

Well it does state you should make sure it can be delivered on time. Perhaps that should have been a sipulation on the quotation that was signed by both parties?

What happens when they cross reference the serial numbers. I had to send a photo of serial number for certain grant schemes.

How does the grant work on the standard priced items do you need to provide invoices to say you spent the exact amount or more to get the full amount

Heard of some applcations having been refused due to no email address on their RPA account.

Note to all to put an email address and to check that one they hold is up to date!

yeah the only one that I know of being refused was due to an old email address being held.

I read somewhere that if you’re accepted and don’t end up purchasing the item then it could affect future grant applications.
With this in mind, what is the consensus regarding items that can’t be delivered on time. Looking at November delivery for my item, should I just get it paid for and hope for no inspection?
It’s either that or hope for another round of grants but obviously have the risk of not being accepted.

It appears that after considerable input from NFU the RPA have recognised this issue. For the following items

- Cattle Crushes
- Fixed Sheep Handling Systems
- Mobile Sheep Handling Systems

- a work around extension is being considered. There may be an announcement next week.

Thank you for the update. Lets hope a sensible solution can be found

I had a grant approved for four items, 1 has been delivered and invoiced, the second is ready for delivery and the 3rd and 4th aren't likely to be delivered until October so I am in a tricky position if there is to be no leeway.

Does it mean if item 3 and 4 are outside the window(if no leeway from RPA) you don't get a grant on all 4 items?

“specifically, grant is offered on the condition that you must buy all of the itemslisted in your application by 150 calendar days from the date of this email, which is 24 September 2018. You can’t change the items you have applied for and been offered grant against.”

Reads that way to me

I was promised my sheep handling kit by the end of July, but it would be nice to have some flexibility in the system...
