Bear in mind half east and half west will provide you with power for more of the day (though a slightly lower total) and as these only stack up if you use most of it it makes a big difference.

There was something in the media yesterday with regards to the government supporting onshore wind turbines once again. Maybe worth waiting until more details are given, turbines may qualify for FIT making them more attractive?

Onshore Wind Turbines are going to be allowed to Bid in the Contract for Difference Auctions from next year guaranteeing your project income. Good news for those on high windspeed >7.0 m/s sites.

At last the government has seen some sense

Have been to the Renewable energy show today and learnt a bit .
prices of Solar has dropped well below £70 a kilowatt installed for larger steel roof installs
it is critical that you use the power as there is no support currently for export and prices have dropped to 3.8 p / KWH
and there is no sign of this going up for solar at the moment
This price should not apply to installs with FIT after 2012
anyone with questions I will attempt to answer
the show goes on tomorrow at the East of England showground and is free to get in and no silly prices in there.
actually it was very quiet indeed and if you are serious an well worth a few hours.

I'm being told different, I think installation costs are getting much lower

Over solar panel history when domestic size fits were 45P it was estimated to take 7 years to pay off, the fits fell and fell, but so did the panels so it was always 7 years, BUT 10 years is more like in all cases, panels must now be nearly give away to make it stack up... hence it all stopped.

Hi Clive, if you are looking at your funding options and need a comparative quote we can put you in touch with a few funders or specialists that could help ?
Happy to discuss if you want any further information

Installed 43kw ground mount system last year for 30k plus vat. Worked out cheaper than mounting on the roof but I did have to dig the track for cable and install the concrete ballast blocks. I agree with thinking about the orientation of the panels to match your energy usage.

How easy was it to get planning for the ground mount?

didn’t have too much trouble with planning. The only thing I’m worried about is the council slapping business rates on the installation. That’s probably not ground mount specific though
