New spray store building

Location

I am intending to house my sprayer under cover and in an insulated building and also converting a corner of a larger shed into a spray store.
I have virtually as much space as required.

Things I would like to include are:
Sunken floor with ramp in roller shutter doorway,
Insulation, lighting to a high standard,
Up to 8t pallet storage for avadex/slug pellets,
Opening at the back to sprayer area,
Used can storage or crushing and storage,
Space for birdscarers, slug pelleter, pressure washer,
Zoned storage for usual pesticides,
PPE space, desk, whiteboard, sink

Am I missing anything?
Water tank will be adjacent and plumbed to the sprayer area.

How big should this be ( min 500ha cereals but plan for 1000+)

Any good ideas??

We have done basically this. Will get some pictures.

We have an indoor biofilter and a hot pressure washer. Main weakness is pesticides in boxes are not well screened when attempting to jet wash sprayer inside. Should have made it slightly larger, but you always wish for more space.

If you're splashing the cash get a pre-mix station like a Vegcraft / Handler.

I splashed all the cash on the Horsch sprayer.

No regrets though

In that case the key thing is to make sure it fits in the shed! Suddenly realised when we thought about switching to a trailed sprayer that we might have built the shed a bit too small. Luckily the demo one just fits in!

I will back in to a 15' bay. Could be wider between the walls but steelwork at 15' centres.

Chemical store will be on left side with access to sprayer and separate roller shutter door for spray deliveries.
It can be up to 25' wide (or 50' including a big water tank) by 30' long or 45' long (2 bays or 3).
Part of the shed exists now but I will add a lean to in order to accommodate the sprayer attached to the tractor.

I have the opportunity to not skimp on space due to the former cattle shed. If the actual chemical storage area was too big I would simply end up parking the avadex trailed applicator in and storing more gear, possibly spare rowcrop wheels.

Should the chemical storage be completely separate to the sprayer parking bay even if both are locked and insulated?

We have them under the same roof and sitting side by side with no walls. As said above, the downside is when washing down, but I really like not having the in separate shed. Minimises distance you need to move the chemical which adds up over time.

How about a big shower curtain between the sprayer sumped area and the chem storage bit?

Have thought about that. Also, removable perspex sheeting that can be slotted into the floor. Haven't got any further with the plans, but will do something at some point. At the moment wash down with the hose and detergent inside to get the worst off and then pressure wash over grass with the pressure washer.

Depending on the exact requirements of the two doors, we offer a range of roller shutters and all of them would be bespoke manufactured to fit the spray store.

If you would like any advice or any further information, then our sales team frequently receive inquiries of a similar nature and would be more than happy to help.

Would PVC strip curtains be suitable? We supply multiple hanging options and grades of PVC, to fit their purpose and the relative strain that will be placed on them.

Again, the advisers in our sales team are the best people to speak to.

They might well be. The challenge would be where they run exactly, how they would be stored when not in use and where they would hang from. No doubt your team would be able to give advice.

You aren't a dealer for Hormann by any chance?
