New spreader recommendations 24meter

I've never understood why they make a narrow bottom, then make it wider for the hopper extensions.

Would be more logical to me to have the whole machine the same width - less top heavy then.

I’m guessing Kuhn make them that shape so with no extension on it will go on a small tractor and not be super wide, may be for a certain application? Bigger tractors tend to be wider so can have a wider extension?

It makes the whole spreader that might higher on the tractor which seems a backward step.

IIRC KV/Vicon make two different widths of their largest spreaders.

Not saying it's ideal, but it's the way they've decided to do it. If others make a narrow machine there must be a demand for it somewhere. Maybe traffic regs in some countries?

2 machines is obviously a better way of doing it from a users point of view, but 1 machine with different options is much better from a manufacturers point of view. A lot cheaper to produce, a lot less moneys worth of stock to sit around if you have one of each in stock, a lot less drawing / design work, parts manuals, etc etc.

Correct. Mind us wide bodied and neighbours is narrow.

all working parts are identical to look at.
