Couple of folks on here who like their weidermann loaders
Is it @manfromhill & @vantage ??
Weidemann 5080T here,
Now on our 3rd, had a 4070T, 4080T and now a 5080T.
New one would be alot more torquey than the previous machines.
Very impressed with them and the built quality is excellent!
You can tell they are well thought out by the finer details.
Only thing I'd like would be the cab to be a little wider.

Unfortunately tyres are a bit small for use on soft ground otherwise mighty machines

Yeah understand what you mean but i guess the target market was smaller machines such as JCB TM200 and Matbro/Terex TRs. If ours was any taller it wouldn't suit a lot of our buildings.

If they ever did a bigger machine ie. 6080 to compete with the likes of a TM320s then it would certainly need bigger wheels.

does the hydro overheat when the going gets tough at the silage. I guess you can clamp 40ton an hour or 5-6 acres of an average crop

I see you have double wheels help with traction great idea

a 320 would be considerably bigger machine than your 5080t

Neighbour just sold his Schaffer early as he is fairly steep and said it was bloody dangerous….bought a manitou. We demoed the weideman and thought well built machine but nowhere near as stable as the Kramer. This last one 3 year old no issues so far

What’s the thinking on new handlers now?

Ive a Merlo 32.6 that’s due refreshing 1000hr ish a year but don’t like the look of these new deadman switches that seem to be coming in. Is this all over the new market board or just Merlo?

Would be thinking along the lines of a 42.7 or 38.10. Any other brands to consider? Hydro drive is a must as everyone who has to drive the 32.6 loves how easy it is to get on with
Demoed the 42.7, was the hydro and not the CV. Nice machine but ended up going for JCB 542-70 as came across ex hire one 600hrs and couldn't ignore savings. Dualtech is very impressive, we were swapping in Schaffer so well used to and like the hydrostatic apart from top speed and towing. Had our loader tractor stolen earlier this year so the JCB has been used a lot more for straw clearing and drawing trailers than we expected and has performed well, we swapped out a Schaffer and still have another and never even bothered putting tow hitches on them as they were so slow. Only downside is the lack of cab suspension, really notice it now compared to the tractor when on the road or in field.

Yep had the 4080 a year now and getting on great it’s easier to use than the 526 and visibility great hydro took but getting used to and wouldn’t like to go any narrower for stability on a flat bit of road it chugs on at 43k but hills are another matter I think if anybody wants the full range of pivots though the Schaffer have a better range of mid to big loaders

A 526 would be a bigger more powerful machine would it,

which is more manoeuvreable

Handler brands and models are like cowpats or flies in August. It's a job to know where to start.

Maybe start with what reasonably local dealers sell. Around here that would be Merlo, Massey Ferguson [Bobcat], New Holland and a couple of those expensive German bendy brands. NH seems to have died off for some reason while MF has certainly been selling better than ever before. People tell me that they like the Doosan engines and the less intrusive overload system compared to current Merlo.
Manitou sell reasonably well considering their dealer is at too far away for my liking. One dealer has been trying hard to sell Dieci but I don't think they've had great success moving metal locally.

No doubt all those brands have something suitable to offer. Whether there are any in stock or available in a reasonable time frame is another matter.

This is my one and only concern as I have some very low slug sheds at home and they must be considered. Hence why I think the 32.6 has been here so long
That is one thing about most of the bendys are they are tall I know mine needs the beacon off to muck out my calving pens
