Not really sure , if it were a manual you would say the clutch was slipping ( revs go up but car slows down ) we have done all the diagnostic checks on the engine and gearbox but no faults . From my experience these cars show fault lights for fun but I have none . Engine is using more oil than normal so it’s time to go
I’m not sure I would have the confidence to buy another LR brand. Nice all the same, I do like the SWB version.

I was driving my discovery 4 yesterday towing thinking again how much I love that car, as above I’ve not seen anything better and no plans to change it, most 4wd stuff is expensive to run this is my third and I think they have been pretty good no more than even the cars I run to repair and maintain?

There crap in my experience, wife's had a evoque and D4 and both cost a fortune in repairs.

Probably alright if like most people you buy them on HP for 3 years and hand them back. We normally but them at 3 years.

Got a x5 now and been much better.
The reason being that you said it was the ‘wife’s’ 😂😂 wife’s just expect cars to work. They don’t realise you have to look after them as well 😂

To be fair, if I spent Land Rover money on a car I would expect it to work at the very least.

I would love a disco 5 or even a new defender, but I just can’t seem to pluck up the courage to spend that kind of money on something with such a poor reputation for reliability.

D5 are doing crankshafts already, I was once a LR owner, not now! Just as you said,
