"Red" Dealer called me yesterday, very satisfying to tell him lots of Fallow so dont need anything.
I hear you, loading runny dung from a midden that sloped away from you used to be soul destroying!it makes me realize how things have moved on my first loader was a thirty-five with a trip bucket you should try chasing sh1t around with one of those
Trouble is they have made the kit so bloody complicated to drive/use that farmers cannot just employ the local thick kids anymore to do 'farm work'
Nice little bits of tech like finger tip spools and Vario gearbox are nice when you're driving them for 36hrsNobody wants billy basic anymore though. We all want fingertip controls and comfort, with the advance in tech naturally things become more daunting, yet much nicer to use when you know how.
I agree for main drivers but for seasonal work/workers or weekenders basic kit is better. Its got to the stage where if you do not renew tractors every 6-8yrs you cant drive the new stuff. I witnessed one farmer jumping into a parked fendt when varios first came out and he failed to move it. It wont be long before drivers arent able to plough/mow etc in a straight line without auto guidance, the craftsmanship of choosing the correct headland to start from is being lost.Nobody wants billy basic anymore though. Wheatonrotty jnr picked this up yesterday, you'd have thought he would look happier! Bit of an upgrade from the old CO6
Got too carried away looking round it and didn't look at the read out. Will have it back on in the next day or so and try to remember to look. Probably too much!So what did it weigh?
