I'm not so keen on Mackerel myself, but when I catch a few, I take them to a local fish merchant and swap them. I then go home with bartered Haddock!Comes in handy for bartering food with the local farms too. I get amazing home made food in exchange for fresh fish! View attachment 949879
I'm lucky. I have decent Pollock and bass fishing five minutes away. Red gurnard, coddling and ling off the wrecks further out. Unfortunately no decent haddock. They are beautiful. The sea here is pretty barren. There are a few cod and pollock to be had but you can spend a long time fishing off the rocks and catch nothing. OR, I'm not very good at it!I'm lucky. I seem to remember reading the thread in which you said how impressed you were with yours. We’ve got a HD Kemp, based on a recommendation on here. Really good bit of kit, can’t find anything UK made that compares. Only regret was not getting another couple before Brexit.
