New toy day

If a macdon is better why do the combine manufacturers not upgrade thier own header. Over in the us alot of operators use a honeybee i think its called

To be fair, not all the growers in North America or Australia would need the added features that a Macdon or Honeybee would provide. In the US in particular, you can get farms that grow predominantly one or two crops. Wheat might not even get a look in. Others might major on rice and not much else. Others it is corn and soybeans. John Deere have brought newer features into their own headers- draper belts are more common now but there are shed load of even aftermarket parts you can get for them now each adding cost and complexity (and weight). I'd imagine JD can let you specify what you need on their own header but Macdon still seem very popular.

CNH did a deal where as Macdon will make their headers , so From next year you can order your new New Holland or Case IH combines with branded Macdon headers

Dont think that will go down well with THW here. They have sold a number of Macdon headers. I guess they will loose out if new machines can come with them.

Sky juicing today so managed to jump back on here for a bit. Should have posted these in the spring but it was all systems go. New Agritrend 3m folding harrows for our alpine and a new to us 6m set of Opico spring harrows. Must be 15yr old but done only a days work and sat in a shed since, paint still on the tines.

With the price of ad blue more than tripling I thought best to try and have something that wont leak and spill so much or overflow or have a load left in an open pipe getting grimey....
Still manual but much nicer to use and the electric was too expensive to warrant. The thread into the barrel is much better, manual gun but you can just keep pumping till it just quietly leaks back from the filler and click the gun off, so everything in the hose is saved and the hose is 4m. Much better than the lever pump we had before with about 1m of hose.
