Mine has a power button and an eco button.in power mode it revs harder before changing up and really can't tell any difference between normal and eco.my truck is an auto which don't really help.also fuel gauge is not that accurate.tank holds nearly 18 gallons,80litres to be precise and this morning it took 42 litres to fill and gauge showed a little over 1/4 full.
Nick...

Power & eco just change the throttle positions, power makes it ultra sensitive but doesn't give any more power on the manual box
Your mpg will improve with mileage, mine has

According to the NFU instructions, you should negotiate the best price you can for the vehicle then take the NFU discount extra.
Of course if you go into the dealership walking like a farmer and quacking like a farmer, they will probably suss you and you won't end up any better off with the 'discount'
I still think it's a load of bollox, but if it turned out it wasn't how have the NFU managed to get the discount? Who's pocket is it coming out of?

The same discount all the dealers can offer off the list price but NFU claim they have got it off for you, can't see it myself.
Had a dealer price me for a ford kuga recently. Told him about nfu discount etc. He said don't bother i can do better. So after several minutes on the calculator he came up with a price. I looked at his list price then knocked the nfu off it and came out over 2k lower. Q a bit of spluttering on his part.

Oh and you won't get 6k off a Ford ranger without the nfu discount. 8% (2grandish) from the dealer at best is all they will give you.

I didn't think it would apply to cars?
When I got my Toyota the maximum discount I could get was 10% no matter how hard I tried, that was it.then gave them the Nfu letter and got another 7 1/2 on top of the 10 adding up to 17.5.well worth having

Maybe i am wrong then (be the first time ) What advantages does the manufacturer gain from this? Just more sales? How many manufacturers are they doing it with?

It's all on the nfu website which manufacturers and models are involved. It's mainly pickups and suvs

I guess the manufacturer gets more vehicles out and about and more sales as you suggest.nfu works with lots of manufacturers and not just truck sellers.allways lots of details in their monthly magazine.discount is defiantly worth having.i got a 30k vehicle for about 24

Haven't towed with mine yet. Do you find it more or less powerful? So far in Eco mode finding the same as you with mpg. Did a run in the old 3l the other day and it was about 2.5 mpg better .( mines a manual box) . Put mine in power mode now and again for a play and I find it a lot quicker, bit like sport mode on the wife's Golf.

I think towing with an auto is brilliant.not got to worry about clutch either.i find it perfectly adequate for the job.very easy to drive manually if needed too.really can't fault it.only niggle is ive had a pair of orange lights on every vehicle I've ever owned and there is no way to attach them to the grill.

It would be interesting to know what 50mph in top, what the difference in revs between a 2.4 and a 3litre old model - both manual or both auto and solo

Is the 2.4 revving more for a given speed in top?

I would have thought the older models would rev more with a 5 speed box and can't understand why the mpg isn't as claimed for the 2.4's?

2.4 is definetly not revving more in top gear. Got a 6 speed box (manual) . I like the engine ,very similar to the 3l driving wise (plenty of torque). I'll let you know about the revs , but honestly it's not that different driving the two , though I do prefer the new one, especially when driving on dual carriage ways /motorways that 6th gear makes doing 70mph+ a pleasure.

Just back from a 150 mile trip and got up to 33mpg which is better.met a chap who had a new invincible and he was getting 40 but was Manuel.he told me dealers are dissapointed and very worried about the poor economy on the auto models.he also said there was a recall about the front bumper but did not know why.also discovered today there is a switch on left end of dash that is covered when passenger door is shut and I've got no idea what it's for.got off on top side and a p on the bottom.anyone got any ideas
