New tractor issue

Agreed to part ex our old tractor for a brand new tractor in late August. Delivery of new tractor was going to be early to mid Jan.

Get a phonecall just after new year to say tractor is in dealer yard, great get finances as signed up and insurance sorted ready for delivery asap. But we do have an issue with the tractor says the dealer, but we will get it sorted and pay for the additional work and parts.

Its now the 19th of February and still no tractor. I am being promised it we be here next week but that's not the first time I have heard this.

Do I kick up a fuss about this and having payed a large deposit for the tractor and 2 monthly payments and the cost of the insurance for this time. Or do I just wait and a keep hanging on a say it's just one of those things.

Thanks

Go & see the dealer. Ask the workshop foreman which one is yours & what the issue is before you see the salesperson. They might be waiting for parts for a dealer retrofit option or there's a recall on something and they want to get it sorted before it goes out, not afterwards. Maybe the yard is full of broken gear and they don't have the resources to get through the workload. You'll get a better answer in their yard than you will over the phone.

Another thing. The tractor is now registered as a 68 plate but if I don't get this tractor untill march 1st would I have lost much as it could have gone down as a 19 plate tractor

My 6175r was meant to come in the March of 2016,first I knew it had arrived at dealers was when the log book dropped through the door on Christmas Eve 2015,I still never picked it up until March though and didn’t really bother me that it was already registered

Frustrating as it is , it would be worse if it broke down after a week on your farm.
I wouldnt sit on my hands though , l would be down to the dealer on a weekly basis to moniter progress and see for yourself.

Maybe its been sold to someone else and they ordered another for you .

Have you actually seen it yet?

At the very least I would want to know what the problem is, and as has already been stated an unanounced trip to dealer to actually see the tractor .
It will be a low hours 68 plate if already registered and the price would need to reflect that.
