New Tractor - Which has best build quality / reliability?

Still considering brands of new tractor here and I’ve always had an appreciation for good quality.

What are people’s thoughts as to the most reliable and well made brands of new tractors?

Leaving cost out of the equation.

I have valtras here for 25 yrs now , they are probably the most common high houred frontline tractor I see working , with contractors running them up over 20-25000 hrs . The new t4 are brilliant tractors , I have 1220 hours on a t254 100% issue free. I also bought it for €40 k less than a fendt.

Why are there not more in the country so James.i know lads that bought t series ones and said they nearly broke them on gearbox repairs?

Brand snobes, if its the wrong colour folk think there crap. If so methinks cheaper, there must be something wrong with it.

It can't be the colour with Valtra, you can get them in any colour you like.

Guy who does some work for me had a gearbox issue on a new T series, ended up swapping it for another new Valtra on a dealer deal it had only done 600 hours.

They all break down my main contractor had a fendt724 sat in my yard 3 days being repaired, was only an idler bearing but it tripped something electronic and turned into a major job.

My thoughts are but the brand with the nearest backup dealer to you and constantly swap it keeping it within warranty or go and buy serveral second hand tractors for the price of a new one and if it brakes down just grab a spare from the yard

Well, if it thoughts that count I might aswell drop in.
The case pumas seem to do very well with little known weak points. And there are lots around.

There would be a lot more if there were more dealers, gearboxes gave trouble that were abused , like reversing with big loads in the high box with your foot half on the clutch, burning out reverse packs .

Look at the tractor sales figures JD have been Out front for a long time now . I have one that this year has been an absolute nightmare with breakdowns ... so would I have another , yes definitely as it’s being sorted . JD aftercare in my experience is excellent.

What's the most reliable and best quality tractor on sale today? A 20 year old Fendt or JD.

Where's Kubota on the list? I'm hearing nothing but good things about them.

It can vary within one brand, from model to model. For instance, there's at least 3, maybe 4 ranges that can provide a 120hp tractor from Case/New Holland. The smallest might seem a bit light, while the biggest might seem quite over engineered. I think it's fair to say any tractor being pushed to its limits will start to test the build quality over one with extra capacity to spare.

Or is it a question of "Which brand has the most/least Friday Afternoon Specials?"

We had a small problem on a older jd , asked the question ,about it jd ,fixed they stood parts we payed labour , would not have any other brand as ,smack between two superb deere dealers ,service and back up from burgess and doubledays cannot be beaten ,

Seems to be quite a few threads asking for help with problems on fendts so the most expensive aren’t always the best, better to pick a brand with the best backup as they ALL breakdown sometime

I know of 4 contractors who went to fendt and have all gone back to cheaper brands . They weren't use to the big repair bills.
