Ok thinking of buying a new tractor I need 50k and front suspension, then a radio air con gear stick and manual spools that are easy in reach next to the gear stick, had 3 tractors on demo need to be a computer wiz kid to operate spools and turn radio up and down more electrics and gizmos than the star ship enterprise My mates got the new mf 8s on demo and hates it says after 5 years and 5000hrs it will be seriously expensive if a fuse blows or the monitor starts throwing up every error code . When will the manufacturers get the message I have been telling our reps for years and I know I’m not alone🥴

I tried a case puma and the manual spools are like an after thought right at the back near door window, used to run a newholland t7 2008 basis tractor but all I needed are the new classic t7 the same?

They do listen which is why they make the tractors they do. Technology is what the vast majority of farmers want. Very few basic tractors sell in the UK. The TM Classic range proved that. For all the noise about 'wanting one', very few were actually sold and those that did found that they were nowhere near as productive as the more sophisticated models. Power for power they just couldn't keep up.

It a fanciful myth that technology is particularly unreliable. Time after time it is found that the vast majority of issues with tractors that stop them working are mechanical in nature. To an extent the more technology a tractor has is divorced from extra complications or extra components. It mainly means that the computer is more powerful and therefore can do more of the tractor's management. The exception is the engine's emission equipment of course, which serves no productive purpose but does add most of the extra or extenuous complications to today's tractors, no matter how 'basic' they are otherwise.

I understand your point but it conflicts with comments I've had from a local JD service manager that over 50% of calls to modern tractors are software faults. These often prevent the machine finishing the job in hand, my personal definition of "unreliability".

I'd love to have electric spools and front suspension but, for the above reason, I'll stick to my 6310 thanks.
