New trailer

You have to lift them with the ewes on, then top it up tight? I remember those days too..... ;)

It really is a revelation to be able to top the deck ‘up tight’ on the flat, then press a button to raise it up.
It’s on gas rams you can lift it with one hand there’s nothing hard about it

It’s miles better than our old wagon container where it was split into 3 separate ramps you hooked onto 6 chains :)
Saw this between Montreal and Quebec city today and thought I might like one.View attachment 832892
I think you could maybe be allowed to tow 4.5 ton with that setup in the uk

Most of Gamics trailers look like knacker trailers, well apart from this one.

I wish they would have a proper website with some spec on,wading through posts on Facebook where every man and his dog tag someone with a pointless comment or ask the price a million times isn’t very professional.

Any owners on here of a 14ft gamic, wheels on outside with decks know the trailers weight? will be interesting to compare against other trailers.

I’ll just leave this here...

There is a big fault with that trailer and every other new trailer i have seen . The gates shold have vertical rails so daft animals don,t catch their legs in them. You see at market countless trailers with buckled gates and that is the reason.. Most lorries have vertical rail gates .

I don't think anyone would argue that Gamic is the best but is it really worth paying nearly double what this one cost ?
View attachment 832952

Not worth paying double perhaps, but when I bought mine it was c.£1000 more than an Ifor with the same gates, etc. That was £1000 very well spent ime.

How much was the GE? Last I heard a new 14’ Gamic with hydraulic decks was just shy of £9k, but that was triaxle not twin. I’ve no idea how much less a twin axle would be, but I very much doubt an equivalent spec trailer could be bought for half the price from any manufacturer these days.

To be fair, the Gamic I had quoted was a higher spec and from memory, it would have cost about £9.5k compared to most other around the £5.5k mark.
That is closer to 175% rather than 200% as I said.
To undermine my own point further, the cost of ownership probably wouldn't be any different, just a larger capital original outlay.
I chose a GE over the Gamic because I expect to frequently use the option of only having 1/3 or 2/3 of the top deck used. This should make it very easy to load and to carry hurdles / quad on the back.

Is the GE on springs or Indespension?

I test drove a trailer on indespension before buying my last trailer. I tested it on a very bad uneven road. Found the ride hard and it sent a lot of knocking feedback through the car. Ended up buying a ifor on springs instead because I felt absorbed more of the impact and was less harsh.

You are quoting a Gamic lifter tray with manual deck models. How much for the GE hydraulic model and is that just a hydraulic run up not full lifting?

I think it was about £1k extra.
I did give it serious consideration but only using 2/3 of the deck gives a loading angle that is as good,if not better than the powerdeck.
The powerdeck lowers the back of the deck to lessen the loading angle and will lift the deck when loaded.
I couldn't legally tow a 14' with decks that was full!

That’s what I have. When I bought it, it was 100kg heavier than the equivalent sized Ifor with decks, etc iirc. I was told that some of the extra weight in the deck tray was negated by having an all alloy chassis, rather than the steel that IW we’re using.

However, both models will have changed now, so no guide to how current models compare really.

Its a bit like going to buy fence posts do you want creosote and forget about that fence for most of your working life or do you want to be buying more green posts in 10-15 years.
