New trailer

I always found the decks OK, but the ramp that moves, putting off the other sheep, as soon as the first one jumps on it, combined with a steep angle that encouraged heavy ewes to turn round half way up....?

And the bloody stupid ali sheet they use to make the two ramps  fine if the sheep go straight up the ramps..... but as soon as they turn side ways and slide all over those ridges, then the rest gib out of going up the ramp!

Having recently looked at all the manufacturers while trying to decide which livestock trailer to buy, I was pleasantly surprised at their helpfulness and obvious willingness to continually improve and update their trailers.
As such, I'm sure many of the comments on this thread are out-of-date and that if you looked at all the latest models you would be pleasantly surprised. I'm sure it is more a case of choosing one that suits your needs best rather than any being inherently bad.
I think they have even moved those stupid little levers on the back door of the IFOR's although they don't seem much better.

What really gets on my t*ts about the Ifor ramp is the stupid lever to move on the outside of the back door. So when you have got your hurdles up to the loading ramp you have to climb over them, risking a bollock, to drop the back door ramp:mad:
This is my only bug bear with the nugent, are others peoples tight to unlock to drop the ramp? I’m not sure if my small spring is meant to be stretched but it’s a foot only job to release it and you can’t use your hands even if 1 of you either side..

Same with my Nugent. Forgot about this dislike in my earlier post.
Going to look at making up a sleeved extension bar that can be slid over and operated from ramp side.
Been caught out a couple of times now when parked to close to wall and having to walk round to unlock. My balls are to valuable for climbing over gates!!

I’m not bothered about my balls, it’s even more frustrating when loading wild lambs and you have hurdles 2 high all of the way from the divider and you’ve got to climb over that lot to unlock it. If you make a tool and it work please put a picture up. I take it their all like this then?

With such a long waiting time for a new gamic and I am sure there are a number of farmers that will not or cannot wait ...... why not increase production by introducing evening shifts

Why not ask them?

They are a young couple who've bought in to a business, re-located it to new premises and gradually expanded the manufacturing space

I would hazard a guess that it's finding skilled fabricators that may be a factor. And anyway, if you make a good product, are customer focussed and make bespoke items and you can sell all you make with a decent queue, why on earth would anyone want to join the race to the bottom dealing in a commodity with a load of moaning farmers wanting a discount on an Ifor ?

I think they, like Pete Jones of Morris of Lydham, should keep their quality and product integrity and innovation up and let others do the volume market and earning pennies

There is a local 4x4 dealer that got fed up waiting for gamic to make canopies that he started making his own and now has 2 full time welders making canopies .... that is a huge amount of lost sales for gamic
40 years ago I helped out at busy times at a feed merchant and one day when one of the lorries broke down the driver said to the boss... why can't the farmer come in for his animal feed and the bosses reply was certainly not as we always deliver and if we cannot deliver he will go elsewhere as there are too many suppliers of animal food
The feed was delivered in 3 commer van loads that night

On that note why do none of the larger volume manufacturers make a trailer with hydraulic lifting decks ?

I was told a canopy would be a 4 week wait for a specific canopy made to order and my specifications . They did have a stock on racks of some models when I was there a few weeks ago

I don’t think that’s bad going at all when you think about the big lead times with the main galv boys at the moment with the grant orders going through

At QE our production lead time on metal fabrications is about 4 weeks

Saw this between Montreal and Quebec city today and thought I might like one.
