New Truck

MkIV by now. Surely.
I had a 1988 forerunner. An Audi 90 Quattro with the five cylinder petrol engine. None of the family liked it. It was sluggish, harsh suspension, nasty gearbox [even compared to a five cylinder VW Santana we had previously], tramlined like hell and wasn't that reliable either. Daughter was invariably sick within 30 miles of home due to sitting low in her child seat with high window sills.
Changed it for an Isuzu Trooper 5 door Citation which is now scrap at the bottom of the yard. Now THAT was a nice car in its time. Everyone liked it.

And still more reliable than a Defender....

You yanks are a strange lot, thousands get shot every year ,guns are still available to any Tom dick or harry, you have cars with some of the biggest engines built, consume a third of all oil burnt worldwide each year, yet poor old Helmut Vw tries to get round your emissions rules and he's arrested on entering the place.

Eye but they get to buy theses

Haven't read all of this thread but took the 93 Hilux to Mole Valley this morning and it got very hot. Stopped on the way back and scrounged some water. Waited for it to cool down and the rad was full of oil. Oh dear. Anyway, got me home but this is looking expensive. So I'm looking to run it through the block and get something new. L200 Warrior for £210 a month ex VAT. Seems a very good deal. Navara looks like a pig on stilts. I don't need to tow much, just get around in any weather and keep the kids safe, plus pick up feed etc.
Isuzu yukon deal at the moment for £195/ month . 10000 Mile allowance

That kind of advertising should be banned for missleading.
Sure, if you read it carefully the info is there. But like the £99 korean car, its not real
The deposit is £2802
payments are £5616.
total £8418.
close to £7000 + vat /£291 a month..

Been looking at cost of a small electric car.
the headline price is £142.
actual cost for 8000 per year = £400 a month
