Priced just below jd and fendt for similar spec but will it be as good long term?No field experience yet, but I will be getting a demo.
Cab layout improved, though switch layout still a bit random. Very quiet inside. Good vision apart from the pickup hook. Spool coupler layout sorted so each pair is on one side only, not either side of the top link.
They've certainly listened to complaints about the previous n3 (and t3) models. Something that Massey certainly don't seem to do!
Looking forward to the demo, but price seems a bit scary.
Valtras with air brakes have a long pedal , if you have no use for air brakes then disconnect them and you will have a high pedal . I had a t214 on demo and it was very quiet and well laid out , these N series are going up to 180 hp I think I seen somewhere .Not an N series, but my friend and I had a T 234 active on demo last autumn.
Same cab as the new N, and it was very nice indeed. It also was much cheaper than the equivalent John Deere at the time. I guess it depends of your local dealers.
The only thing I didn't like about the one I drove for the day was the brakes. I guess in isolation they would be fine, but they felt dead, had a very long pedal travel before bite, and lacked assistance so needed a lot leg pressure. When compared to my friends all John Deere fleet, his brakes had much shorter pedal stroke better modulation feel, and higher levels of assistance, meaning after driving the Valtra, jumping on a John Deere ment lots of accidental emergency stops!
I hope the latest N series haven't inherited these braking traits.
I'm afraid they probably have as we have briefly had a go in one and did notice the brake was a long push down to biteNot an N series, but my friend and I had a T 234 active on demo last autumn.

Will be replacing a Deutz k430 profiline. What are you looking to replace?
Which size on demo?
Put a full review on the forum please.
What all have you tried/considered. In the process of thinking of changing our NH T5060 and the prices of new 100hp tractors are scary, I even laughed when the Massey dealer gave me a price for a 4709 it was that badWill be replacing a Deutz k430 profiline.
Wanting to demo an n154 direct (the CVT version). Local dealer has a 154 demo but it's a hitech.
Change won't be happening in the next few months as I've a couple of others I'd like to demo as well, before sitting down with a large drink, and maybe some tranquillisers to compare the prices.
I know what you mean, I haven't changed a tractors for a good few years and am amazed the swapping cost for even the most basic specced tractors. Four cylinder tractors with a loader 80k wtfWhat all have you tried/considered. Exactly and more price increases to come, 5712SL Massey in stock is 48k, next one will be 53k. We might just run our tractor to high hours and repair if needs beI know what you mean, I haven't changed a tractors for a good few years and am amazed the swapping cost for even the most basic specced tractors. No need to worry about brakes , I have 5 valtras and the lowest hrs I had to do brakes was 7000 hrs , they are self adjusting and never change much , as for a long term tractor I have my oldest one here bought new in 1995 and still going like new at 13 k hrs , I've seen plenty gone over 20 k hrs with little trouble . Four of my frontline silage tractors are averaging over 10 k hrs and I'm not even considering upgrading any of them , they have just gone through a busy year contracting without a break down.I'm afraid they probably have as we have briefly had a go in one and did notice the brake was a long push down to bite
I'm sure you'd get used to it but will this cause problems at a later date?
Aim to keep this tractor for 10 years so are they a good longterm buy?
But do you think the modern ad blue engines and 5 speed power shift will be as resilient in the future, they are very complex nowNo need to worry about brakes , I have 5 valtras and the lowest hrs I had to do brakes was 7000 hrs , they are self adjusting and never change much , as for a long term tractor I have my oldest one here bought new in 1995 and still going like new at 13 k hrs , I've seen plenty gone over 20 k hrs with little trouble . Just been quoted almost double that for a 6130ap might need to run the old one a bit longer!Exactly and more price increases to come, 5712SL Massey in stock is 48k, next one will be 53k. We might just run our tractor to high hours and repair if needs be
I have heard the sameOf all engines out there , it's hard to beat the sisu so I wouldn't be worried about them , from what I hear there are now ways of getting rid of the add blue.
How on earth can you make money paying that for a tractor?Just been quoted almost double that for a 6130ap might need to run the old one a bit longer!
I have heard the same
You can get them with manual spools which are also cheaper.I had a demo of the N series in the spring it was the 180 hp one nice to drive but fairly noisy in the cab when power harrowing (not helped by the lack of a radio so all you had to listen to was engine noise) it's been a long time since I tried a valtra but was a definite improvement the gearbox didn't suit me as the top of A and the bottom of B were both 8k so either couldn't go faster in one or slow down in the other it had plenty go about it my biggest issue were the electronic spools but that's just me I don't get on with any of them other than JD and JCB but that's just personal preference all in it was a decent yoke
