Not as you stated paste bit above ?Not sure of your thinking here but all vat registered traders will have to file returns with mtd compliant software even if they fall under the 85 threshold.

I believe most old farmers will do what most old farmers do, pay a book keeping lady who will turn up with a laptop and fill in the VAT returns after creating them some login details using whatever choice of software they like best.
Put a 4G broadband router with an external antenna up on the hill and use a WiFi connection to shoot the signal back to your house....It was difficult enough to submit the return on an unreliable broadband system but then to expect confirmation by phone when the BT landline was disconnected 5 years ago due to not working every time it rained and the mobile phone only works when you have signal on the hill top
Only because they want it all done for them and STILL send you a big billOur accountant is pushing Sage. Has anyone any experience with it?

Easier working for tax man.
Not much point in having them then if these so called "accountancy packages", as as good as they seem then ?It's nearly all done for them anyway which reflects in what they charge us to be fair.
I just wondered if anyone has experience of Sage
There you go then. No need to bother. Not much point in having them then if these so called "accountancy packages", as as good as they seem then ?

The software packages are great, get all the data put in right and the bookkeeping is done. Accountant can then focus on stuff that is of more value to you, capital allowances, farmers averaging, business structure, pension contributions. Not much point in having them then if these so called "accountancy packages", as as good as they seem then ?
You haven't seen all Accountants ?The software packages are great, get all the data put in right and the bookkeeping is done. Accountant can then focus on stuff that is of more value to you, capital allowances, farmers averaging, business structure, pension contributions.
There is a difference between an accountant and a bookkeeper.
HMRC 's does !Software doesn't know the tax system inside out.
Granted, I haven't. But the firm I work for does think like this. Maybe if your accountant doesn't, you might be due a change. You haven't seen all Accountants ?
