I wouldn’t bother with the LIC ones. They get in calf and dry up! Plus mastitis and feet weren’t any better than anything else. Some of the New Zealand bulls that CRV carry are better than the LIC ones.
You could use some Canadian stuff from Semex, bred more as a cow that lasts than a milk factory that kills itself.
Or we have collected semen from some of our bulls, have a look at Quintrell jerseys.co.uk. I think they are all there, although we haven’t done any updates for ages

We have used LIC bulls and were quite happy with them, but they seem to be trying to breed a small cow and I don't really want a sub 400kg cow, so have used some Danish bred bulls for one cross and will see what they turn out like next year, but have gone down the flying herd route, so no choice in bulls from last year.

Alot of my dainish would be not much more than 400kg especially vj links. How did you find them to milk id be happy if they would 5000ltrs and hold condition at backend of year.i was thinking like you one cross of nz on dainish american could only do good.

What sort of yields are you after. 5000ltrs with a cow that can look after herself is my aim.

Funny that you mention that, I've currently got an LIC jersey herd and have been considering changing to CRV. What do you see in the CRV bulls that the LIC ones are lacking?

I'm in New Zealand and I don't even know how to answer that question. Not sure what yields you're referring to, by the numbers being thrown around are you talking about total litres per cow per season? Probably apples vs oranges being in a different country with a different system.

Yes, basically these guys are paid pence per litre -while we are penalised for litres and paid for solids.

It's all a balance ! Quintrell Ladd Taupe looks useful , and available sexed . Michael has P J Style Master in back pedigrees , and we found him to be a cracking balanced sire .

Im looking for bulls with fertility of vj link but with strength and ability to hold condition grazing in harsh conditions i understand that others may have housed ayr and tmr .

I think a lot depends on your farm, we cannot run more than 130ish cows, rented land is to dear, £200acre +, so for us, barren, calf, and yield are factors, LIC tends to be smaller, they have a different system of payment. We would like, a yield of 6-6500, with good constituents, a better 'end' price, and calf price, but definitely not more purchased feed.
Sticking my head out, I think the horrible holstien will produce the ideal cow, quicker than other breeds, why, they have an enormous gene base, to select from, most other breeds, except jerseys, do not have that base to start with.
And, to be fair, we still have a few holstiens about, and they can produce on a grazing system, but we haven't got many ! Example, our 1 remaining hol, from origional, just calved her 9th, currently giving 37 liters,, currently done 80230 liters, at 4.1 fat, and 3.17 pr. Last lac 13122, 4.88 3.16 x 412 days, on a grass system ! Be happy with a herd of them ! never produced a heifer calf:(

I haven't a lot of LIC jersey for a few years now. 10 years ago they were definitely 350kg cows that gave 3000 litres but I do think they've come quite a long way recently. I would use more again now if they weren't so expensive for the 4m bulls.

I have some really nice looking Misty heifers running with the bulls at the moment and quite a few really strong looking Connacht calves. I would definitely be using more Connacht this year if I hadn't decided to use all sexed semen.

I would happily use 100% Ambreed jersey and fresian if they were available sexed.

I see proper pedigrees, not a load of animals selected from some numbers. Both LIC and the Danes seem to ignore pedigrees and just look at indexes!
We are a spring calving pedigree jersey herd, blending mainly USA and Canadian genetics with a small amount of New Zealand and danish

CRV sell the ambreed bulls, or at least they used to?

we find the pure jerseys harder to get I/c, and therefore in block, and, at one time, had a serious involvement with a CI herd, similar, with them, Jx, no problem, expect its us.

The problem with usa canada and denmark is these animals are indoors tmr fed nz is grazing which imo would be a more suitable place to pre test bull. The dainish jersey is supposed to give 9000lts im aiming for 5000.

How much do they want for a straw of sexed LIC over there?

My pure jerseys have all but died out for this very reason, bought two lovely danish ones but they had beef calves every year as I put a sweeper but in. Had 7 at one point, only one left now. In calf to AA:facepalm:
