Hi,
Complete newbie to owning lambs, currently have a 5 week old bottle fed.

This morning I noticed his ear like in the pics, its like the hair is peeling off in a sheet of scaly skin.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Another thread running last week on this mentioned cobalt deficiency but it is photosensitivity and will heal. Bit of sunblock if you can be bothered but seen several of our charollais lambs every year and all heal up

Char lambs - fast growing. You're seeing crusty ear caused by a brief Cobalt Deficiency as the lambs grow, very common.

The OP in both this and the other thread are not photosensitisation, which is caused by the ingestion of Bog Asphodel - a condition they do not get over/recover from without a large course of anti biotics.
