NewHolland TX32 Combine - Header Automatic Table Compensation and Stubble Height Control not working

Neither the "Automatic Table Compensation" nor the "Stubble Height Control" are now working.

Over recent years we have had the New Holland dealer out to try and sort the problem but they have been unable to fix it.

At the end of harvest in problem year 1 they fitted a new internal switch on the header height raise/lower lever. However at the start of harvest in year 2 the Automatic Table Compensation and the Stubble Height Control were not working.

After the end of harvest 2 the New Holland dealer took the pressure cylinders away and re-gassed them.

At the start of harvest 3 the Automatic Table Compensation and the Stubble Height Control were still not working.

Called the New Holland dealer out and they spent a morning trying various things with the rotary knobs but still it does not work.

Does anyone have a likely solution to this problem which has to date nonplussed the New Holland dealer?

Thank you

:scratchhead:Sounds to me like they need to swap the electronic controler for these two functions to see if it will get it working, possible fault with software or electronic circuits.

I don't think there are any electronics involved on a TX32. I had problems on my TF46, it turned out to be corroded wires under the operator seat. A rat had obviously been in there a few years previously. I may have a wiring diagram for your combine, I seem to remember the way it is wired is a little confusing.

I have a similar problem with my TX 32. when I drop the header sometimes it stops at the preset stubble height but then drops the rest of the way to the ground when I release the header height lever. some times it works OK. is this an electric or a hydraulic problem ?

Mine had electrical issues with the main relay off the key, no lights sometimes. Changed all the fuses as there were conductivity issues there, got to know the main relay click. Having said that I use the pressure setting rather than the height setting.

Ideally I would again like to use the pressure setting. Can you please elaborate upon: "got to know the main relay click"?

You turn the key on and there it a very definite click on from the big relay by the fuses. They are renown for being temperamental, if the key turns too far it can lose the contact. Give the key a waggle in the on position? If the lights work then I would say the relay is working as it should.

Yes.ours does that,i changed the ignition barrel thinking that would sort it,but no.Did changing the fuses sort that problem? Stubble height not working on ours this year, soon learn to do without it.

Wiring diagrams as requested by p.m., can also send by email if easier.

Block H Pin 3 give it a new earth wire to the bodywork
Block EA Pin 2 or 9 give it a new Fused (around 16Amp fuse) power supply direct from the positive on the battery
See if that changes things?
