NH Diagnostics plug

I need to access the h menu on our t7030 to be able to recalibrate the front suspension. To do this I need the plug that goes into the diagnostics plug on the right rear pillar. I can get the plug and pins from rs components, I would like to know if its as simple as joining one pin to another or if there is more to it than that. I have a socket wiring diagram which shows a service mode initiation, do I just connect pin B to G.

I can't remember exactly what pins they are but it's only a link wire, nothing special. If you want to calibrate your tractor now go and link the pins with a jumper wire, you don't actually need the plug but it is nice to have.

Thanks, I hoped it would be that simple. I did think about just using a piece of wire, but as you said it would be nice to have. Its only £13 for the plug and pins, so why not. The plug is Part no AHD16-9-1939S and pins AT62-201-16141

How do you know to pull pin G to battery voltage?
If you measure the voltage on pin G with a digital multimeter.
If you find 5V or higher you might have to pull it low (earth it) to get a reaction.
A 1k resistor (or bigger) in the jumper mightn't be a bad idea for safety.

Because NH use a 12v feed to the processor to trigger the diagnostic/calibration mode.
The plug only ever has a link wire, not close to mine to identify which pins but the wiring diagram already posted looks good to me.

Famous last words , “what does this button do “, “if I just fire 12v down this wire.......”
Tiny bit of knowledge is a very dangerous thing sometimes .
A Power probe in the wrong hands is the parts departments wet dream .

It’s just a link wire, no resistor required. Once you’ve started up you can remove the wire, it will stay in the H menu until you key off again. Depending on age of tractor, think the 7030 will probably be R1 controller? Scroll to this with hour and minute buttons, enter with the other. You need H1, enter in to that, then find symbol for suspension, enter into that and it will say CAL in lower dash display, then assuming you have the rocker switch to lock out suspension and not sidewinder, set engine to 1200 revs and click lock out switch 3 times. Simples. For Christ sake do not under any circumstances enter into H8!! I can’t stress that enough haha!

Like I say “ what does this button ( menu ) do”...
Been down this road before....
Have you been messing ??? No , not me chief
Several hours of labour later , discover ...they have indeed been messing playing about in menu’s they shouldn’t be and that are locked from general population for a reason, then have the cheek to argue about the bill at the end....
Well if you had been honest in the first place it would have been a ten minute fix instead of chasing wires wondering why we had no power only to find someone has deselected the function from a menu by mistake messing about in stuff they shouldn’t be and don’t understand.
Sorry gone off on one a bit

Oh I know where you’re coming from, trust me, I deal with it on an almost daily basis. Personally, I think they should build the calibration into the software like they do for the trans and rear hitch, so customer can get into it via quick entry and then gets rid of the risk of entering the murky world of messing with calibrations and configurations haha!

Like it used to say on "The Man From Atlantis", do not try this at home:

There is a combination of jumper wire and menu that allows full engine boost mode at standstill. I only know this as I saw it done while my T7030 was on the dyno.

And that is what it is for, boosted hp when standing still. Lasts for a grand total of 45 minutes!!!
Easy enough to get manuals on cd for less than a fiver so knowledge isn't that hard to find.

When I looked I couldn't buy the parts easily so I ended up buying a ready made one online, good job finding and making your own though (y)

Sorry to ressurect an old thread - did we ever establish which pins are used for the diagnostics cap?

I've ordered myself a cap courtesy of @dave7840 - thanks :)

Is it pin G to pin A (pull down to earth) or is it pin G to pin B (up to 12v?

This is for a Case maxxum 130 cvx, which I believe has the same CNH diagnostics plug part.
