NH T6 or Maxxum - 4 or 6 CYL ?

Hello Guys,

Setting out to buy either a new or nearly new T6 or Maxxum Tier 4A with a loader. Will be a standard affair with 40k Electroshift. Main duties will be powering a Lely 245 baler, a 10ft trailed moco,16 ton low loader and 18ft silage trailer. Tractor will also be used for stacking bales. Want front and cab sus as well as 113lt hyd pump.

Q1. Should I buy 4 or 6 cyl? Im leaning towards 6 as I have had 6 cyls all along.

Seems to be very hard to find a nearly new 6cyl Maxxum but I have come across many T6's with demo hours in the UK. Is this just due to popularity of NH over Case? I have heard people say that you will buy a case for better value than same NH? Colour is not important to me I assume both are mechanically identical only for colour?

Q2. In the 6cyl range, say comparing a T6.155 to 175 are there any mechanical differences or stronger components used in the larger horsepower 175? Or is the sole difference the ECU and the way it is mapped for the engine?

I have been quoted €83k inc VAT for a 2015 T6.155 (Cab sups only and 113lt pump) with 1100 hours and new 760 self levelling loader fitted from main dealer. Is this crazy? What do you reckon is the market value of this set up in the UK? Sorry for all the questions but I only buy every 10 years or so!

All recommendations and replies appreciated.

Thanks Thomas,

Yes from the small bit of research Iv done it seems t be about 10k off the proper value? But this seems common place with tractor dealers as friends of mine have 'negotiated' 6-8 k off when the actual nitty gritty of a deal takes place. Nonsence in my opinion that these dealer wont offer a fair and genuine price day one, I suppose they catch some people with a limited knowledge of tractors and the market and the rest they know will bargain down.

I know of a 2013 T6.165 with Electro Command, Front links, front and cab suspension and 600 rear tyres and 2000 hours for £35000. Don't think the one your on about is worth £71000. Feb 2016, mate priced up a T6.175, 50k air brakes, 4 spools, full suspension etc and it was £57000
