NH T6080 Viscous fan bearing

Hello. The bearing in the viscous fan of our my brothers T6080 needed replacing. You can see where the fins on the housing were starting to rub. The silver (maybe stainless) "stud" in the middle has an allen key hex in the center. It seemed to be opening ok anticlockwise, but then just came away. Once it was off replacing the bearing was straightforward but to put it back together ?? The "stud" (if that's what it is) looked too smooth to have sheared. Could it be bonded ? There's lots on the internet and on here about replacing the unit but can't seem to find any advise about dismantling or repair.

If you have any advise or experience on this I'd be grateful.

It would be news to me if it can be dismantled bin job, and i have replaced unit on a few different model cnh's.
