I still don’t see how smuggling will be countered.
This deal will be rejected, looking at it seems purely pm looking for a way to blame EU for no deal and playing to his base. But EU needs to play the game and say their reviewing it, but without customs union doomed I’d think.
In that election will the tories make dishonouring the good Friday agreement and breaking up the UK manifesto pledges?Boris is playing clever , he is talking brave trying to build up support , then he will call an election and win a majority , then he will tell the Dup to f.ck off.
Presumably with Swann going, you will see the UUP eventually morph into a sort of red/white/blue alliance style party. Which may be good for unionism as a whole, but will be uncomfortable for some of the more traditional members of the UUP.Unionists opposed May's deal because:-
1 it was not leave. It kept the whole of the UK under EU rules.
2 it gave all the power to the EU. The UK could not leave until the EU said so.
This deal contains much the same details as May's deal, but:-
1 it has an ene date / on going review dates
2 it returns power to the UK as the UK (NI assembly) can vote on how long the interim state will last.
Nationalists loved May's deal but hate this one. They wanted/still want to use Brexit to further their aims of a united Ireland.

Northern voted to stay in , a border would be a disaster on the island and would do nothing only harm , it won't be allowed , anyone standing (working ) on a border will be a target who will need very good bullet prof clothing to survive . It's pure madness at what's happening , the northern people need to revolt against this stupidly.Whatever they do, from purely economic aspect proposals put forward are ridiculous. No one will invest in an economy where trade rules are open to change every four years. Forget that EU will prob reject, other NI parties should be going nuts over them

Another very uneducated comment , just proves you havnt a clue what your talking about. Ireland is a fantastic country with peace now up north , and your big blond clown wants to put that at risk.People like you are the reason I've never been to Ireland and probably never will.

Please be gentle with me ....... why can’t NI stay in the EU as it did vote Remain?
Customs Border could then be the coast of the rest of U.K.
