Nice warm work jacket

Does anybody know of a good make of work jacket that is warm to wear threw the winter? I had a nice waxy Jack Murphy one that had a wool liner in it, but it's done, alot of those shooting jackets are very thin and cold and are to expensive. Any ideas.??

What are those battery powered jackets like?

Personally I prefer base layers than massive coats as it often isn't all that cold
Is that Blaze Wear?
My wife has one of their soft shell body warmers that she uses under a waterproof jacket. Great for walking the dog but battery life is sh!t

Get a thin goretex breathable waterproof from eBay. The sort that some rambling radge has worn once then forgotten about.

Layer up with a jumper or fleece underneath when required.

That’s what I do. Can’t stand working in thick heavy coats.

Base layer for me, then thin North Face type pullover in a size to big so I can tuck it in, Hoggs working climate water proof pullover (surprisingly good, as I found out shedding 400 lambs last weekend in torrential rain four 4 hours) then my Flexothane waistcoat over the top. I often find myself sweating like a little pig, but if you want a really good warm jacket you can't go wrong with a Musto!

Part of the reason I like the swanndri is the hood. It’s warm, a good shape and best of all it’s quiet. Nothing worse than a hood made of a carrier bag that you need ear defenders to wear and prevents you from hearing that irate bullock from hunting you down across the yard.

What do others do to keep thier bonce warm and dry without the rain running down your neck?

Had a spell with a cowboy hat, but even with my thick skin the stick just got to much :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Back to the sealskinz it was

P.S. I have sealsinz socks and they cut that in between sweaty layer out between my wellies and feet when wearing waterproofs. Very good

My work coats are some free ones I’ve picked up over the years from Genus, think they are Regatta jackets. They are pretty warm to be fair and keep you reasonably dry, I can’t complain too much as they were freebies. Not sure where I’m going to get a new one though when they’ve worn out, not dealt with Genus for years
