But, but, wasn't it the EU that fudged everything up.
Nought to do with domestic policies or governments. Neither Tories or Labour have been able to do anything without permission from the mainland in Brussels. How can you guys be so churlish as to blame your own politicians when everyone and his dog knows it was Verbumbstadt et al is to blame

If Scotland succeeds in obtaining independence from England, and then gives it up to Brussels, she will lock herself away from her largest market, and into one where she has little penetration, and one which has no purchasing power in any case, any price she gets for her goods will be held down by a combination of no funds and Franco German desire to maintain their ability to have cheap imports. I also cant see Brussels providing a Barnet formula replacement.
There is however, hope in that that Brussels has stated that Scotland would be treated as a prospective new entrant, and at the moment could not satisfy the entry conditions

If the fish wife really wants to win a referendum, she should hold it in England, she would probably get help to pack her bags, and a lift to the station!

I don't know how much gold you sold to prop the euro. Pray tell me please. I'm genuinely interested. Don't give me fake news now, or even the more enlightened version thereof called alternative news. I come out all in a rash with this rubbish.

Now let's talk a bit more broadly about your gold and how it vanished(n) . Funny thing not a unelected Eurocrat in sight. Euro not even invented. :jimlad:

What a good read, nothing biased with the mirror reporting at all,can you remind me who they support.
We would probably be happy with the eu if we got out more than we paid in but we don't and it was never going to improve

Gordon Brown selling off the UK gold reserves had nothing to do with EU at all. It did have a lot to do with staving off a financial banking collapse in 1999. As usual the banks had got their fingers burnt with dodgy dealing in the "gold carry trade" Brown had to openly and with prior notice put a large amount of gold on the open market in an effort to bring it's price down and thus save the banks from collapse. The good old taxpayer then picks up the bill for idiot bankers again.:mad::mad:

There are not in a queue though, they are going through the process. I am no political big thinker etc, I am merely a Scot that want's to see the best for Scotland and Scottish people. I have no firm entrenched view of what the best way to achieve that is. I keep an open mind and like to see things from all angles, problem is that we are never really told the exact truth from either side. What I can't stand is the snide. sneering you will never be any good on your own attitude from many, nor can I stand the anti English brigade.Truth is that unless we try we will never know.
