More than three times as much trade is done between Scotland and the rest of the UK than between Scotland and the EU. If it was daft, according to the SNP, for the UK to leave a union with which it did half its trade, it must be utterly insane for Scotland to leave a union with which it does >300% more... but, of course, this is a mere fact, and so can be ignored by the SNP for political reasons...
It costs the rest of the UK more than £150 billions to subsidise Scotland every decade; I think that is worth it, because I believe in the Union. If Scotland leaves the UK and is allowed to join the EU, it will immediately relieve the UK of that annual £15 billions, and immediately mean that the EU will have subsidise Scotland to the tune of more than double what the current biggest scrounger in the EU, Poland, gets. And this isn't even taking into account what Scotland will lose from having a hard border with the UK...
You are right, in theory, but they would probably 'break international law' - again - by bending the rules. Of course, Spain would veto it, if allowed... great club that.surely the EU would not admit Scotland with numbers like that behind them ?
there are economic tests to gain admission
Please explain the benefits, I am open to such a suggestion if it makes overall sense.A federal UK is the only way to save the union.
Don't you say there was no such thing@capfits @Nithsdale Farmer what's funny? Please tell us which figure I gave that is not correct.

Exactly, it only magically appears when we do it, it's not there when they do.Don't you say there was no such thing
Perhaps, maybe Boris will suggest it next year, who knows? But what is the virtue of a 'federation' that will sell it to the rest of the UK? What is there in it that will see it endure, for at least as long as the Union has, rather that be a spring-board to ultimate separation?I think it will allow the 4 nations to have real control over their own finances, and spending while keeping the union together.
If federalism was on the table, I believe independence support would fade to 20 to 30 per cent.
To be fair if I was married to her being gay would be the better optionApparently its a marriage of convenience , as the husband is gay .
Are you that bad?To be fair if I was married to her being gay would be the better option
My ex wife told everybody I was and then said I was a pansy for wanting to be divorced from her, thought she would be happy to get shot of me and pocket best part of 400 grand in the process, strange creatures womenAre you that bad?
I don't believe so, she is certainly married to a man and has sadly had a miscarriageShe's a lesbian isn't she? Not that it matters of course but there is a bit of duplicity there.
Also everything coming out of Scotland seems very jingoistic which I find childish. She is a good politician though in terms of presentation
You never hear much from Drakeford ( thankfully ), but day after day this awful woman appears on national TV whining about something. Seems to want to take over from Merkel and rule the whole of Europe......
SFAIndy2 scotland and the union are gone.what are the tories doing to counter act the SNP argument.
