Nissin huts, why did they go out of fashion?

Still has V8. Mum took the cream leather seats out of it a few years ago for a summerhouse. I've got my eye on them for mezzanine floor man-cave. Just need the engine block coffee table then. ;)
Nooooooo, they were high compression V8s for 5 star fuel, think they were 10.5:1 compression, beautiful engines, had one in a lightweight land rover once, went like stink and sounded gorgeous, I will give you a 8.25 engine for it anyday!
Talking of man cave seating, I have a pair of full suspension seats, designed for the lifeboats, they are about £8000 a piece new. Only problem is that they are not that comfortable!

The car in the photo cost £325 exchange for one 12 months old. On a journey to Hull cattle market dad hit a patch of black ice, spun off the road and hit a fence outside a house, the fence was made of railway sleepers stood on end. Local farmer pulled it back on the road and he carried on in to Hull, took it to the Rover dealer who declared it fit to drive after replacing one headlight and a rear tail lamp cover. It required two doors and two wings for a full repair, but for some reason these were not available straight away so he did a deal through the dealer and insurance co and had a new car instead.

Not going to strip the V8 for coffee table. I'm not that daft.
I remember the sticker in the back window 'Use only 100% Octane fuel 5*' or something similar.
I've a 4d from a major with a crack in that would take a glass top. (y)

If a Landy driver says the lifeboat seats aren't comfortable they must be bad.

I seem to recall that a different head gasket was made for that engine when 5* fuel was no longer easy to get, reduced the compression ratio. Yes we put one in a land rover, you needed a fuel bowser towed behind you, ended up swapping it again for a perkins 4.203, that had too much torque and ripped the gearbox in bits.At that point we got rid and bought a Hilux instead, should have done that in the first place.
