We spread at 36m with a KV Geospread we tray test MOP,TSP and ASulphate every time my Nitram is not on site but tray test is coming up ,is Nitram even enough year on year not to need a tray test or would you wait and get it done.
Cheers

There was a thing on trays a while back, Twitter I think, some chap reckoned he’d found almost the same as the test guys in a garden centre, with the square divides too.

We have used nitram for years now and although some years I have to slightly tweak the spread width, it's usually same settings, as said above get your own trays for peace of mind, we made our own and I usually test every product every year, but I am ocd about spreading fert, nothing worse than putting stripes in crops:banghead:

Just make sure you know which plant the nitram has been produced in. Immingham and Ince both produce a slightly different product, which requires different disc settings. if your really unlucky you may even have a mixed batch:banghead:

Some trays and clips from B&Q and some test tubes from eBay, just test whenever you want then ?

Does that still happen? I thought they had changed the gear at one of the plants so they both sent out the same product quality?

I use hessian seed potato sacks instead of trays. Easier to transport and the prills don’t bounce out. Good enough for a quick check, fold sack to centre to see number of prills gathered more clearly. Only need to lay out 8 bags across the 24 m between tramlines then drive down one tramline and up adjacent tramline to get the effect of the overlap. Set other side disc the same.

With section controL on these spreaders ,may seem a dumb question ,but with them moving the drop point all the time how do you tray test them
