Look just as green here to fields people put stuff on?
Mild.

Certainly not here. Lots of yellow barley around here, where they haven't seen a tractor yet.

I'm glad I got some on in the warm spell, as I would have trouble walking on it today. It'll take a good weeks dry weather before I could think about it. It's been using it to grow and to throw out lots of tillers, so it's certainly not all gone anywhere it shouldn't.(y)

People who did apply in good spell bet all down rivers now,?

My osr had 40 kg 3 weeks ago, and the canopy has gone up by 1 unit of GAI since then, so that means it will have used all of that (50 kg/unit of GAI). Time for the next dose, I think. Most arable soils won't have much N left in them unless there was a major crop loss last season or there has been a long history of manure use.

My OSR is flying, need to get the Caryx on ASAP but it will be starting to hunger soon. Re leaching I think little and often has to be the best option, if weather and logistics allow it.

not so here, we have had a bit of rain since first N application enough to wash it in but as yet no significant amount that isnt soaked up as it falls or dried off in the wind. The field drains are as dry as the proverbial . crops are certainly taking up what has been applied even though its come colder. Agronomist was suggesting maybe reduce next dressing as non lost and go with an extra split considering some years weve not or only just applied the first of 3 maybe a sensible idea .,any views?

Super happy that I chucked on some straight urea on the cereals at the end of the warm spell instead of waiting for mole valley to deliver my urea/sulphur.
Threw the dice on the OSR as it needed sulphur more than N and managed to sling some on in the only dryish and calmish afternoon in the last fortnight.

OSR is growing like stink, desperate for some pgr and will probably have to chuck the rest of the end N before in the next 10days/ 2 weeks before it gets too tall.
Cassia 185kg/ha fss no dressing, Suffolk coulter drill on the 3/10/18.

Did you follow up with an insecticide re. BYDV?

No till, and no n yet, might go next week if possible.
Top shot looking down the headland, (4 years no till), which of course is so compacted it will never produce a crop:rolleyes:

I did on that field but only once thresholds were exceeded acording to the ahdb aphid calculator thingy-ma-jig.

Everything drilled after mid Oct onwards hasn't been sprayed. I had the stuff in the store to do it but after spending quite a bit of time on my hands and knees, I couldn't find any aphids so left it out. Time will tell if I've done right or not.
