if the pressure is down it wont fire, there is a pressure switch on it that cuts the burner out.

Check the nozzle isn't badly worn out! they do wear and need changing from time to time. MAKE sure you fit the correct size nozzle! too small and the temp will be too high and there is no cut off for high temp so it just turns in to a steam boiler!

Check the unloader valve is working properly, then your properly looking at a new pump.

Fan and fuel pump are on all the time when switch is turned to hot that's why you are getting fuel down the return pipe, pressure switch will be stopping the ignition.

Makes sense had a new nozzle few months back so that should be ok
Could it be the unloader valve faulty causing the pressure switch not to come in or the switch itself faulty

could be the switch faulty yes, are you sure the nozzle is correct? and have you turned the unloader valve to reduce pressure???

i have had a slight issue with my unloader for a few years now, if you screw mine al the way up to max pressure the dam thing randomly sticks and will stall/labour the motor, i just back it off half a turn and its fine.

I learnt from Nixon late last year that the unloader valve should be set so that when the machine is running there should be no more than 14amps, with the trigger pulled. we measured ours using a clamp meter.

We had two issues one where the unloader valve was stuck with a peice of plastic stopping it building pressure then about 2 weeks later a chunk of o-ring in the other side causing the unloader valve not to work and stall the motor out.
Setting of the unloader correctly is very important.

mines been on 16amp supply since day one, no issues like others with blowing motors, its 10 years old now and only ever cost me hoses and lance and a chemical injector although that was my own choice really.

IMO i'd quite like it to blow up! then i can get a new bigger one :ROFLMAO:
