If I had a pound for every time I had asked about an old tractor or plough I had spied on my travels then I'd be a rich man, however it annoys me more when you go past a few yrs later and it still hasn't Moved or you see the local scrapy picking it up

Was anyone else at the sale a few yrs ago, Insch area, there were dozens of old ploughs and whatnot dragged out of the nettles (sorry no photos), sadly a lot were bought by scrappers and went straight into skips:cry::cry:
Think I paid about £150 for this, P3, stuck, had a front hub/wheel missing, otherwise complete inc serial-no plate, and with Scottish Aviation cab

I spent a good while on one of these blackbob!ripped many a good pair of jeans climbing in and out of cab!and also hired the cab out week ends for local dances and discos!!!? Very spacious, but unfortunately if you ever got stuck with the dam things there was nothing ever big enough to pull you out!!I nearly lost mine down on the somerset levels whilst working on a pipeline, just couldn't pull it out with backacter Polaroids somewhere took a360 and several trees to rescue her.pretty rare to see one now,they were never a serious threat to jcb I guess !!!

And incidentally the rusty frame thing leaning against the digger, I bought exactly like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-G...K_BOI_FarmingEquipment_RL&hash=item1c49964d94 with the 2 chopped-off 'shafts' for a horse, and blacksmith-made drawbar conversion for tractor towing.. except mine had rotten wooden wheels, so I took them off, put on Morris Minor wheels of similar diameter, and made a frame to mount it on tractor linkage. The wooden boxes are safely stored in a shed.
Certainly didn't pay that much:eek::wtf: , maybe £20ish?

I remember being at a sale at kintore, possibly 8-10 yrs ago and that lad had a fair heap of bits and bobs that he's squirrelled away

Would that be Davie Duncan, Port Services, I first came across him when he had a yard at Port Elphinstone at the southern end of Inverurie (now houses), moved his collection to Turriff (where Ross Agri is now), then had a stock-clearance sale and moved to Keith?
His stuff was all for sale though, whole or in bits.. but at a price:wideyed:
