DD9.
But we all lead such busy lives now. I see tradesmen driving past us each morning with the coffee up on the dash and I know some who will drive back to the sandwich shop for their lunch.
£20 a week in coffee alone.
£1000 a year😦
Yeah, I see them flying past too, and I just think if they just got up a half hour earlier, they’d be far less stressed

Well, after 23 years of towing trailers I’m finally going to be legal 😬👍🏼, even got pulled with the trailer on the pickup last year and they couldn’t find anything wrong except I had a tail light out (bad contact on the plug and fixed by giving it a wiggle). Guess I was lucky they didn’t check my license 😱.
Think I may get my class 1 done now 😂.

So you are happy to boast you have been driving for 23 years with no licence or insurance.
Hope you are equally happy with our caravan dwelling friends taking trailers diesel etc!

I’m not boasting, fact is 3.5t towing law has always been a load of money making bollox!
My brother passed his test a year before me and can tow legally but I couldn’t yet he’d sooner get me to tow as I do it all the time and more confident.

What has theft got to do with it :scratchhead:

There is no excuse, you cannot pick and choose which laws you obey. If you had a serious accident, the insurance would rightfully refuse to pay out. A lifetimes care makes stealing a chainsaw and £100 of cherry look pretty minor

The government have just proved that the 3.5t trailer law was bollox fact! My protest has finally paid off 😂.
People pick and choose which laws they obey every single day (cyclists are the worst for it 😉😂), setting out to steal from or hurt someone is completely different, if everyone obeyed stupid laws we’d be a nation of sheep, it’s turning into a nanny/police state as it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So who decides which laws are stupid and don’t have to be obeyed, personal decision for everyone?

Everyone is entitled to there own opinion after all, and as I said a lot people chose which laws they want stick to all the time! Like the people who trample my crops on a daily basis, those who speed, don’t strap loads onto trailers! At one time homosexually was illegal along with women’s votes, amongst a lot other thing’s. laws and rules change all the time just like the towing law just has, and it’s because people asked for it.

And let he who is without sin cast the first stone!

Anybody deliberately driving without insurance deserves a life ban!
And it is idiots like you which cost honest law aboding people so much for their own insurance

Personally the more bureaucracy they can tear up the better for me, common sense is being eroded because of it. The trailer test was a classic example, all the young had to find hundreds to pay for over priced training and testing yet a 70 year old can tow a 25 foot caravan legally. Tear a lot of these rules up and get the country back to work.

Provided you passed first time test was £60 (may have gone up that was about 12 year ago). Didn't need to pay for training you could learn what you needed to know for reversing manoeuvres etc online. Tbh I'm surprised they haven't dropped the test but kept compulsory training instead which could actually be of use if it learned people about correctly loading a trailer and tying stuff on etc and about towball height etc.

Yes but it would of been phased out eventually with everyone having had some training on hitching, unhitching and manoeuvring. We have to remember as farmers were used to hitching up, tight spaces etc and are much more practically minded than the other 99% of the population. 40 yrs ago most dad’s would change plugs and point, re wire a plug, put up shelves. Most of the latest generation struggle to tie their shoelaces and lift their trousers up FFS so have no idea what a 7 or 13pin plug is let alone what it does or where it goes

It’s just been dumped back on employers same as everything else now to prove competency or some training record. Little johnny now crashes the works van with trailer but it won’t be his fault but the employers for not providing sufficient training
