You've led a charmed life and been lucky then -
It is quite possible to be involved in a no-fault collision ( e.g. Head on collision due to blow out on other person's vehicle)
If your licences are not up to date and correct then the insurance will simlpy decline any claim no matter how many years you have been paying it and how many £1000's you have paid.
Motor Insurance is mandatory for a reason - it is not simply "Red Tape".

I’m not boasting, fact is 3.5t towing law has always been a load of money making bollox!
My brother passed his test a year before me and can tow legally but I couldn’t yet he’d sooner get me to tow as I do it all the time and more confident.
