I'd suspect the Chinese have mandated vaccination of the whole population, they have control measures still in place, lock down cities/Regions as required when there is the slightest hint of an outbreak.....the joys of living in a communist state!
May not be many joys but they are obviously doing it for a reason!

Here in the UK the English government decided whatever the outcome or consequences to let the virus run wild & simply hope for the best, the Chinese on the other hand clamp down really hard on any cases that arrive so it does not spread to the wider population & are vaccinating everyone as quickly as they can, why?
Simply saying that those that want the vaccine can have it does not stop or even slow the spread, as it is rife in schools it will spread to the wider population as the vaccine loses efficacy.
If we agree that they can't pin people down and jab them, what should the government be doing?

The government have all the way through continued to give contradicting instructions, one minute it's a rule next minute it says it's advisory, first masks are of no use ( even though every hospital worker has always worn them) then we were told they were essential, then they were not, they said virus passports would be needed for events next minute they changed their minds, now nobody takes any notice at all what they say!

Yeah they've been crap. I'm on your side but I don't know what you're calling for?

So what if UK tests and publishes the data? Surely, the population is entitled to know the facts.
Numbers issued daily in ROI and carried by most media outlets. Good. We are entitled to know the facts.
How many tests have Ireland done ?
The uk has done more per million than any country in the world, no wonder we have more positives.
We have done over 4.5 million tests per million, Ireland has done less than 60 thousand per million, how many less I couldnt find out as that's as far as the stats go but that's less than Bangladesh at number 31 in the world,

Seeing where it's spreading is a good thing. Plus we do a hell of a lot sequencing. We should trade info with the EU in exchange for some more turkey pluckers.

But guess which country has hospitals struggling to cope & dire warnings of whats ahead, far too much money has been wasted on pointless tests after all the damage was done!

Test & trace was designed & meant for when the virus was controlled tightly to prevent any further spread, then the government suddenly wanted it spread everywhere for herd immunity then they didn't, then they did, but carried on with what are really totally pointless testing, either they wanted herd immunity or they didn't, does anyone know the answer?

The government going on scientific advice has always known( as have all governments) that herd immunity is the only way to go, the problem is the idiots in the media and public dont understand that is how humanity has evolved, the media need to sell advertising thus they create panic so people use their services.
Herd immunity is created by just letting it rip, via vaccination or a combination of the two which is where we are now.

If only someone had thought to tell the rest of the world this gem, how lucky we are to have such clever scientific advice otherwise we could have been in real trouble!

How do you think humans have survived over the last few thousand years ? NO virus has ever killed 100% of its hosts, a few will survive they develop resistance and antibodies which are passed on, interbreeding spreads more resistance and a deadly disease becomes the common cold etc.
It's not clever it's simple, very simple.

It's not pointless at all. It's information that's used to make decisions. It's the same information that you are using to have a go at the government.

Pretty good if you are one of the lucky ones, the old Spanish flu was a bit expensive people wise still as you say all in a good cause! Of course you are assuming this little beut came from some old bat falling out with a pangolin rather than some old prat in a white coat just being careless.
