did you have a look at the roots? if there was a long window between harvest and sowing your ground could have slumpedonly expecting 5-6t/ha here due to awful grain fill.

You did also say that wheats on heavy land might be very special. Were you referring to 1st wheats?
Rather expecting the same, at least on the earlier drilled 2nd wheats. I think there will be quite a big spread in yields. 1st wheats held on much better.
Averaged 9t/ha sold of Solstice last year all DD on light land and 1/2 of that was second wheat which performed well. Its the season not the system id suggest.
