Lipos in the RC world are often puffing and catching fire, i never had a lithium Iron battery do that ever!

just watching more you tube videos and they look like soft case lipos although they do have lithium iron written on them! There defiantly constructed just like my Lipos though!(n) more research required i think! if i was to get one i would be keeping it in a fire proof bag thats for sure! not that there even that good IMO but there better than nothing!
Hands down best workshop tool I own. By some distance

Nearly all wireless devices will now be powered by a lipo battery (mobiles, tablets, tools etc) trouble with rc batteries is there high rate of discharge and usually over discharging due to no protection, unlike phones etc. Lipo’s really don’t like been over charged or over discharged, this will cause puffing due to gas been released.
I have a few k’s woth of lipo’s for the rc Heli’s, a 6s can go with a fair bit of smoke when you crash 😂

That looks like you’re a villain in a Mission Impossible or Bond movie!

Thats a rather nice set up there, i dont have any 6s batts just 3s and 4s, they run in pairs to give 6s and 8s for my bigger cars.

Would you agree though the batteries in them nocos look more like a lipo than an Iron??? Most of the noco failures on you tube all seem to be the smaller models IMO, GB40, GB70 etc with the odd GB150? Maybe its not helped by people using them on vehicles too big for there output overloading them?

I’ll be honest, I’ve not really looked into the starter packs! I generally manage with the boost on my charger or a set of jump leads, if something doesn’t start in a morning it ether gets a new battery or the charging fault sorted. I can’t stand a machine that doesn’t start first go 😂

I was looking at them because on my new van the idiots put the battery under the cab floor, so you have to undo 3 screws to take a bit of trim off, then take off the plastic kick panel around the passenger seat, then wiggle the cab floor out, then there another plastic cover over the battery! I could fit a anderson plug i guess but its very cramped in the battery area then would have very long lead round to the plug so by the time it got to the machine to lump start it leads would be 2 twice as long as a normal decent jump lead set!

One of these noco things would be dam handy if they work and last but i just dont trust them type of batteries!

Jump packs are good I just don’t think I would get the use out of one!
Is there no Jump point under the bonnet? Usually if the battery isn’t handy to get to there’s a set of terminals on the bulkhead.
The battery is in the boot on my car under the spare wheel and the compressor for the suspension so not handy at all for getting to.

There is a pee poor little jump point yes still awkward to get a decent clamp on there (n)

I’m pretty sure you won’t regret it!

I now own 5 jump packs I’m that pleased with them. (Waits for someone to ask if my vehicles still have batteries any more!)

Its not always a fault either. It only take some lights to be left on accidentally and it’s solved in seconds.

@Dave W is the expert!

The GB150 will do 50+ jump starts on a charge though. That’s just boosting a flat battery though, not a very deeply discharged.
It's maybe not good value for everyone. I've currently got a dozen compact tractors/ride on mowers/etc in stock.
most were bought with a knackered battery.
to me the noco is worth every Penny

Every time I have seen a modern vehicle with a remotely placed battery, especially if difficult to access, they have jumper terminals under the bonnet en-route to the starter. The positive terminal will have a red plastic cover but the earth might well be a raised lug on a nearby suspension turret or similar.

Just a nod for several contributors from further above, the lithium polymer is described correctly but the alternative cell type is not lithium iron, as stated by several, it is lithium ion. No R.

It does have a jump point but it isnt very good or handy to get decent sized jump leads too for jumping machines off. Tiss also a long way from the battery (n)

My mistake didn't notice the slight spelling difference of iron and ion!

One letter makes a massive difference to the product.
I strongly suspected it would have the lugs. I've never had an issue using remote jump/charge lugs myself. Many tractors, handlers and harvesters also have these of course.
