Noise level in 1056xl cab and MFD doesn't engage when it needs to.

Friends I have some thoughts.
In winter time I had repaired MFD solenoid with new o-rings, gasket, filter, etc but problem is not solved at all. I ploughed and front doesn't help ploughing when I'm driving, but when I stop than switch shines and shows me that front wheel drive is active. Where could be my problem, solenoid stuck again or switch, current from switch to solenoid?
Next thing is noise level. Is it possible somehow to make it quiter inside cab? It feels so noisey, but sound is awesome off course. Maybe I'm getting old. :D

A quick test once the tractor is warmed up is to drive slowly on a hard surface with full lock. If you flick the 4wd on you should see the front tyres grab and tend to wind up. Switch off 4wd and you should see/feel the tractor almost jump.
As to noise a bit of a job on those. I found the noise from a 956 very wearing. I don't know whether or not you could stuff more cladding anywhere and put an extra layer under the mat. The continental exhausts don't help either but that is what the die hard folk love.

Take the transmission filter housing off and strip that the 4 wheel drive valve is housed in and make sure it’s clean and the valve moves in the bore. Doesn’t take much to make the valve stick if there’s been filings through the system from a failed handbrake. Had the same issue with my 1056 last month where the light was on at tickover but with any revs the front drive would drop out and the light in the switch would go off.

As for noise, I find a pair of earplugs invaluable for a days work. They sound terrific but as mentioned, it’s very wearing after a few hours.

Sometimes the 4wd shaft couplings wear , usually where the shaft joins on to the axle input shaft. (Pinion ), the splines may be worn inside the coupling

Thanks mates. When I'll quite ploughing I look those places again to see what's going on there than I'll post my problem reason and how it solves here.

IF it's not just a worn coupling on the 4wd shaft ( very common ) here's a list to help you test through the 4wd system.

As for cab noise, does it get worse as the tractor warms up ? What can happen is the rubber on cab mounts at the front get softer, they move more & the bump stop guides can rub metal to metal.
This causes one hell of a noise, it sounds like a bearing failing in the gearbox but also transmits a lot more noise into the cab.
Have a look at the bump stops & the cab mounts, if the mounts have not been renewed recently or indeed are original they could well be knackered.
