Noisy Parlour

Hi

I'm currently running a 16x32 Dairymaster parlour. It has two vacuum pumps, there is a lot of extra vacuum produced and this makes the vacuum regulator in the parlour make a lot of noise. Just wondering if anyone has this issue, not sure if the regulator can be relocated or if a variable speed vacuum pump would make it less noisy.
Any thoughts.....

We had exactly the same problem in our old parlour. It originally had a dairy master regulator on it which we swapped for a Fullwood cervac one which can sit in a bowl and have the air piped to it which eliminated the noise for us.

ps with variable speed pumps the regulator is only there for emergencies and is not in theory used so no noise.

When I was looking at putting in a new parlour 20 years ago it was noticeable how much noisier Dairymaster parlours were to the rest I looked at.
Varispeed vacuum pump will make a massive difference. We now know when a cow has kicked a unit off as you here the pump rev up.

£3,300 from local crew although had to squeeze them a bit. £2,300 back from farm equipment fund grant so not too bad. Must be significantly reducing our Elec bill and pump wear.

Why 2 pumps? We have one pump running 40 units perfectly ok, and quietly on variable speed
