Nora Dolomite Wellies

For my sins I`ve worn these for several decades on my stock farm - good grip on greasy surfaces, a good thick sole that doesn`t highlight every little pebble, etc., and they are comfortable too. However the last two pairs I`ve bought have come out of the box creased and bent and just will not "stand up" - this makes them very difficult to put on. I`m wondering if they are made thinner now - has anyone else noticed this problem in the last year or two?
Any suggestions for a different make at a reasonable price with a decent sole and some proper treads too?

An old salesman I knew once described that as a good feature, in that they never got rain in them when you took them off.?

I called in at Kiwikit for a new pair of leggings when I was passing ten days ago, and picked up pair of ‘Techno’ wellies too. They are quite thin/light but have good soles on them. I’m finding them extremely comfortable, without being heavy, and not a Daft price either:

I too was a loyal Nora wearer for decades but they invariably went porous on top of right boot (had half a dozen left boots in garage waiting for a partner for years?)
Now I have short Aigle kiwi style 90% of time, also some steel toed Dunlop purofort for more than a foot of mud and winter work in tight amongst big footed cattle. The short Aigles I found half price and a size 11(I’m a 10) but they were half priced in mvf that pair that day!

I had exact same experience, one folded wellington which would not stand up. However they are now over 10 years old. Still use them but only for jobs that require a level of protection that my expensive Le Chameau wouldn't want to be put through

10 years ! Outstanding! I’m pretty sure you’re not a dairy farmer! We had two pairs of the boots @neilo refers to from KiwiKit. Mine are ok , but son’s pair have now got a detached heel after light wear. Puroforts I had on some leggings rotted through on the leg. Trying some Bekinas now which are VERY comfortable, good sole, time will tell if they last!

Have a pair of Noras as a back up, try to avoid wearing them at all costs , do not find them comfortable at all, cannot believe I wore them for years pre the wellies with insoles.
Yes, they do flop over as well.

Thought it was just me who had the bent Noras problem, the last two pairs I have had done the same. My wife put a pair of boot trees in them every night for a while and they seem to have straightened them out.

I reckon that they make the stuff more supple than it was ,so no stiffness in the top part ?? So one flops over if both dont - grr
Noras were always my favorite ,but now ,having arthritis in my feet ,I need a really comfortable sole which isnt too warm either . Tried Aigle , Bekinas good ,but a bit baggy for my liking , so wear Puraforts at the mo , but easily holed !!
Have a pair of Skellerup thermal wellies for winter !!
I am the Emelda Markos of the welly word so my family think

I am currently wearing the new Nora NoraMax wellies, IMO their the best wellies I've ever wore, previously I've wore bekina steplite and Dunlop purofort.

I had 2 pairs of Bekina steplite that only lasted 5 months.one pair lasted 2 months and the other 3. They were comfy with good grip but I'd never recommended anyone buying them as they don't last .

Two pairs of noramax in 4 months. Both split on left boot at same place at big toe joint. Where comfortable but not worth it if they don't last
